U.S. Masters playoff - just rubbish.

A lot of pressure on the mind at that stage but I think all 3 players in that made the playoff should have been deducted 2 shots or something for rubbish play. They are better than that , but it made them look like a bunch of 24 handicap hackers.

It should have never gone to a playoff. Chad Campbell should have won that outright. That guy is going to be remembered as the player who "lost" 2 majors.

Wrong, the man who should have won it is a Mr Woods, followed by a Mr Mickelson, with Mr Furyk in close attendance.

But isn't it a happy thing that sport is not always predictable ?

Personally, as an oldie, I was rooting for Kenny Perry. He did well.

what ever happened to arnold palmer, jack nicklaus and sam snead?

:costumes:

actually, those guys were my father's heroes. i was never a fan of the sport

Mr. Sam is playing gold with St. Peter. Jack and Arnold are like us old retired pilots. They just sit around and improve their scores in the tales they tell of the "good old days."

Actually, I enjoyed the finish. It shows you just how much a role nerves play at that level.

Hey All,

OK so I'm a golfer. Even played to a 2 at one time. Been watching majors for almost 40 years.

This years Masters:

1) The roars were back! On the front side curiously and not the back (mostly) except for the birdies by Angel and Perry on 16.

2) Karma is Kewl! Perry while I like to see old guys win skipped 6 or 7 of the last 8 majors and expects to waltz into Augusta and win? I think not!

3) Campbell - he'll win a major someday - probably his only one and it'll be in the wind.

4) The playoff was anticlimatic - but after 68 by Woods and 67 by Mickelson what did you expect? All the pressure was on the last few groups and they hung in and one in the final group won. Sure a win based on a dramatic birdie would be nice but it don't always happen that way. Cabrera in the end hadd the guts to get it done.

5) I loved seein Angel Cabrera win. Such a genuine honest warm man who is a hero in Argentina. I really hope he gets a career grand slam. He got this one for Roberto and Seve - fitting!

6) Phil - what can you say? Played the front 9 9 under and the back nine even. What is up with that? I think he simply stumbles over his own aggression - like at the US Open a couple years ago. This tourney was his after that 30 on the front nine - all he had to do was play smart golf on the back nine. Wait did I say Phil and smart golf on a sunday in a major? What was I thinking?
