Uh Oh! I'm at it again....

i could alternatively time a dive correctly and get over them trees at about 100ft just as i break the sound barrier, granted anything fragile ie. Glass within 100m would disintegrate.... but for the lads to get some fresh fruit i think it's worth it.... :icon_lol:

Works for me.... We'll get a few blokes together with trucks and after you rattle the trees, they'll have a go with what's on the ground. By this time I think Nigel will have figured out what we're up to, and he'll be waiting with a 10 gauge shot gun full of rock salt. :icon_lol:

Me thinks we waited a bit too long to pull this one off.

I think you're almost there; the problem w/a Mk 82 is the shrapnel getting in the apples, which could be hard on the teeth (or dentures) - I would suggest a good FAE, dropped a suitable distance away so the apples aren't emulsified, or turned into applesauce on the branch - just knocked down.

Dad was pretty good at doing that stuff a long time ago, he pruned trees and plowed fields from 15 miles away - here's how (with apologies to the copyright holder):

Lol!
Now you've gone and done it...BB686 and Mr. Wynn get ground support for their little escapades.

I' ve already had trouble enough the past few days as you are about to see:icon_lol:

Sunday morning blues...

5:30 a.m Sunday morning...
great! an extra hour's sleep before I take a look at my inbox
and enjoy the exotic, refreshing aroma of the day's first draught of coffee.

Not to be!
"Heh buddy, wake up! Come and see what I've done to our SLUFS!!!"

It's our buddy Matt...can never say no to the rascal, always so full of beans, always up to something and always a great buddy...
but is it neccessary to shine those landing lights, full beam into my tired eyes
at this God forsaken hour of Sunday morning?

So I'm cheated out of the hour, the coffee, but I'll be buggered if I dont at least have my first cigarette...
The lights go off, I see the pair of silhouetted SLUFS parked as though they're about to leap into the blue on some vital mission,
but this is Sunday darn it, I have other plans for the day.

"Come on buddy...just a quick circuit to check out the new HAF SLUF!"
I know he's been at it all night long...he never eats/sleeps when he gets one of his ideas....

"Alright! just one cicuit around LGTS, (I don't tell him its been years since flying a SLUF) then we put down... and yes;
I do like the paint job, if you can't do an awesome HAF tex, no-one can!"

Matt:" Just follow me to your place and you'll see something you didn't expect."

Me: "Cripes;a mighty...did you see that...what the heck is an S2-F3 doing on my patch?"
"See the slick paintjob?"

"Couldn't be...."
"I'm taking a second gawk!"

"Heh Duckie! is that really you?"

"Matt! Let's show the Gentleman the way home...and set up the ouzo!
You both deserve it for these great paints!"

"Make yourself at home, just park wherever you fancy...you're among buddies!"

AHA!

A striped apple-tree rattler!...

I'd better pass the pics around to the homeguard anti-aircraft batteries PDQ!

Seriously, nice going, not the easiest of subjects to paint. :applause:

a couple of my shots of the real thing, no prize's for guessing where they were taken :jump:

ahh the blue cones and fence gave it away :icon_lol:, and yeah i've taken it back to more or less fresh out the booth with minor wear and fading... having a break from FS9 stuff at the moment as i have work to do.... Mapping and Texturing for IRIS.... :kilroy:

well... after over a month i can reveal that the IRIS F-15E is back in my paint shed.... and here are some images to stare at... took her right back to the wireframe, so she's pretty much 99% new externals :salute:

This is looking great Matt!
I just love the dirty panel lines. At last an F-15 with an authentic look and not something from a museum...

Great job so far, can't wait! :salute:

Stuart

thanks Stuart, yeah i decided to weather it right down to represent a bit of usage on the airframe and not a prize hen.... just working the fin on it at the moment before i move onto the opposite side....

thanks buddy, here's a sneak peek showing the first paint i have planned for my new mudhen kit....

Wow!... Starting to look a little like the scheme that the 361'st "Bold Tigers" out of Missouri used on an F-15E for their Tigermeet entry in 2007. I have that particular model in 1/32nd scale, complete with little itty bitty LED's in the wings, tail upper and lower sides of the fuselage for Nav lights, as well as an orange one in the cockpit. Just plug it into the wall and she lights up really nice. It's a die cast model, complete with real rubber tires, working control surfaces (moveable), beautifully hand painted and she's about 18 inches long.... big model.

EDIT: I don't think the tigers head on the side of the fuselage is as big on the model tho.

it's 366FW, Mountain Home (Idaho). scheme was for the 2005 TMOTA (Tiger Meet Of The Americas)

You're right, 366th out of Mountain Home. I dunnoh where I got 361st. The model I have sitting in the den is similar, but not like the one in your pic, Matt. So I guess after owning the big "mudhen" for 8 or so years now, I reckon I should try to find out exactly which plane it represents. :isadizzy:

EDIT: The model I have is an F-15E Strike Eagle, with the "Fast Pack" fuel tanks and two place cockpit. Talk about a "bomb truck".
