Uiver DC-2 High-Altitude Record!

Hi All,

Having nothing to do for a whole 1 hour and half, I decided to do something: See how far I could get the Uiver DC-2 into the sky - I decided to set an altitude record! Using a USN Naval Air Academy repaint, suitably weathered, I set off from from RAF Hornchurch, my favourite airfield. These are the results.

I got up to 20200 feet, before I decide to give up. (I could go higher, perhaps even to 25000 feet, but did not want to). I Also managed to get, at some points, 215 MPH TAS! (At Cruise power!)

I hope you enjoyed my little story, and expect to see more from me, and a certain South African Airways (Suid-Afrikaanse Lugdiens) DC-2 ;-)

A couple of years ago when the Two was still mostly a FS9 plane, we had a bush field race arond central Alaska. I landed on the football field, (about 19,500 ft) near the summit of Denali (20,320'). I think Gnoopey landed whatever he was flying a few feet higher at a different location.

Many thanks to ROBCAP for his long term efforts at bringing this wonderful plane to fruition for both FS9 and FSX.

Cheers: T

Have got something to shoot for now. Will see what mine can do soon.

Rob- Box set was delivered weeks ago, installed yesterday. Great stuff! Man, I truly enjoy this plane. Worth it at twice the price in my estimation. Excellent work, both you & your team.
