Uiver Team DC-2X

Hi Y'all,

After flying around for roughly 1/2 of an hour in the Uiver Team DC-2X, I am in awe of the skill required to fly this aircraft in the real world. I have new respect you guys down at Lelystad :)

I also am amazed at the level of detail you get for your money in the DC-2. Examples of this incredible detail include:
The ground power cart sound level depends on wether you have a door (or window) open or not.
The is U/V (Glow in the dark) night lighting on the instruments.
And finally, there is an advanced systems simulation which makes sure that you monitor engines, flaps, fuel systems and landing gears - almost like Accu-sim lite.

Cheers to all at Uiver team X and the Aviodrome, you have done a great job. :ernae:

Yes, the DC-2 is a state-of-art plane. As you, I love her for the complexity and fantastic system panel. Rob, can't wait for that surprise ! :jump:

Rob's been busy with one last update of the DC-2, as to the why and what I'll let Rob fill you all in on the details!

Thanks Ferry - Heres hoping that update includes 3-d gauges! :jump:

The simulation is very well polished in all other areas, and 3-d gauges would be the icing on the cake.

One other feature I would like to see is rain effects on the windshield that go with the wipers. :jump:

Unless someone makes a radical change to how FSX is set-up, having moving rain drops on a cockpit windscreen like there is in FS9 won't be happening.

As far as I'm aware there are 3rd party aircraft that do have this effect in FSX.

Wonderfull plane, that Lotus L39. I have it.
Fantastic programming, that AFAIK nobody hase been able to duplicate.

Cheers, Rob.

When I was developing the FSX version of the SU Texan I asked the experts over at Free Flight Design forum about how to make the moving rain drop effect, since duplicating the process that's used in FS9 doesn't work. I was told that FSX didn't support moving textures, that the ACES team had accidentally broken the effect and had overlooked fixing it when they released SP1 and SP2. The rain drop textures are in the texture folder but can't be made to work.

I should have known better than to say there was something that couldn't be done in FSX.

I stand corrected.
