Hah! I knew that would get the right response from the right people! Never been to Cosford sadly, but once to Old Warden when I was pretty young. Very unique collection, maybe only rivalled by Peter Jackson? Whatever the case, WH, save your pennies and get over to Blighty, there is a lot to see here and you may need to stay a while!

Sigh, makes me wish I could pond-hop more frequently myself.

A taste of Old Warden. The joy of Old Warden being so close (relatively) to Duxford is that you often get the Collection's aircraft at Duxford - the ultimate was, of course, the Brisfit trio!

Magnificent scenery!

Thought I'd stitch together a RM Flying Display

One doesn't want to trip over the supplied AI too badly...
So far my hangar has produced these:
Hurricane
P40 Warhawk
Spit Mk1A
Spit MkXVI
Spit MkXIV
Mosquito
Lancaster

Tornado
Hawk9 Red Arrows

What are other likely candidates?

What are other likely candidates?

Stuff I'd add to mine (will be adding to mine) includes?

Seahawk
Seafury
Hawker Hind
Hawker Demon
Hawker Nimrod
Sea Hurricane (a subtle distinction I know, but Robert Sanderson has a good model which represents the Shuttleworth Hurri)
Brisfit
Skyraider
A brace of Gladiators
Ha-1112 Buchon

Sure more will come to mind, but those are all aircraft that you could reasonably expect to see at a real show. Some aircraft that have previously appeared include:

Tigercat (I think Alphasim's now freeware version actually may have the correct markings)
Bearcat (ditto)
Firefly (Doug Smith's beautiful model will deserve this sort of showcase when it arrives)
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 "Black 6"
More Brisfits :icon_lol: saw three of them at Duxford a few years back, utter bliss
Blenheim - the Blenheim Society's lovely twin was a Mk IV when I saw her (all black, at Fairford, luverly) but is now being restored as a Mk I

Food for thought? The joy is, all of these are (or will shortly be) available in FS9.
Lavochkin La-9

This is where FS9 Really comes into its own

Excellent!
This will be quite a busy schedule, time to go digging.

Mmm

I wouldn't mind seeing the two T-28 Trojans that are based at Duxford included as AI. Both in French markings (Fennecs), having had the pleasure of a flight in one of them N14113 'Little Rascal'. This before conversion was a T-28A with the Haitian Air Force. Useless fact is that another Haitian airframe is flying in the UK, being T-6G G-DDMV which does flights out of Sywell and Rochester (and yes been in that too! :)).

Cheers,

Martin

alright.... who do i blame now..... just downloaded Kirks F-86 and my mind just immediately went "OOH PAINTKIT!"

just great... so thats DR.I's, F-86 and a whole metric Sh*t tonne of paint kits to do :icon_lol:

great scenery though, and up until 1996 you would have seen the Mossie there at displays, i remember seeing it in 1995, and 1996... my last memory of it having been on that fateful day at Barton... Britain needs a mossie back... i hear NZ has a few... :icon_lol:

This just keeps getting better and better! Can we have some Sea Fury shots next? I have fond memories of seeing an Iraqi AF one taxying along one summer. But hey, any Sea Fury will do!

What are other likely candidates?

Levasseur Antoinette (Joe Binka)
Demoiselle
Bleriot IX

Me108; Guenter Kramer
Bristol Bulldog (Aeroplane Heaven?)
TBM Avenger (Maam-Sim) was painted as George Bush's 'Barbara' last time I saw it (yes some years ago!!)

OV10 (Tim Conrad)
Yak 52 (alphasim?) <--- team based at North Weald
An 2 (Mr Zhulisky)

just to add a few more

Matt, put the brushes away.. Kirk's Sabre has plenty to choose from already; including G-SABR

ttfn

Pete

Ps.. Folland Gnat (Simshed)
Puma HC1 (Simshed)

needs an 'Ellhnikh Floga' paint :icon_lol: dragged my old 4 ship formation guys in and we are making our way to Duxford... left Tanagra AB and are currently sat at Zemunik in Croatia i think (F-86 is wrong model for 'Hellenic Flame' as IIRC the team used the hard wing Sabre... :icon_lol:

in my paint hangar ready for a flight to Duxford after the paint dries is a DR.I by Frank Elton, going to do both Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen and his Brother Lothar-Siegfried Freiherr von Richthofen's mounts first, working on accurate decals at the moment :icon_lol:

I'm hoping to find enough time this weekend to repaint the Seafury trainer to represent the RNHF's new bird, I'll do you some screenies then; possibly a 2 ship with one of your Seahawks!!
