Started up Flightsim, and hello, here is the world update for the Carribean. Also got three updates in the content manager for Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

Going into take a look to see if they fixed Bimini. After the last Caribbean update Bimini ended up with seaside cliffs and elevations not even close to the real island. Not an overly important place in the Caribbean, but I do spend time there, so it bugs me. :)

I still have the islands all covered in snow. Doesn't seem right given that it was 77 degrees F at 2,000 feet.

The best thing about the Caribbean Update, as Priller said, is it got rid of that da*n Dune Expansion opening screen.

What I was told while there is that the highest elevation in Bimini is the Three Sisters Islands just south of the island. They are actually in the sim.
Looking at them as we went by, I guessed they were barely 10 or 12 feet ASL and they seem to be about right in the sim.

In the sim, heading south out of the channel between North & South Bimini it looks like 20' high White Cliffs Of Dover. :)

Another missing feature that would be nice to have in that area is the Sapona wreck. It sticks up almost completely out of the water and would be cool point of interest in the sim. It was used for target practice during WWII. That's where the famous missing Avenger flight was coming back from when they disappeared. Scrounging around the bottom near the wreck, you can still find spent rounds.

BTW, the new screen shows a myriad national flags (as usual) but not the Cuban flag. Any clues? :unsure:
 
I am surprised at this thread. I got it back in early April. Way before the Dune stuff got added. ????
