A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other UIRES and screens

Description: United States Marine Corps in Color background screens for CFS2

Pacific Theater WWII

By Captain Kurt

This set of screens uses period Kodachrome color photographs with the one exception of the captured screen. Nothing in color could be located for it. I have been collecting wartime color photos of the US Navy for this project, and actually wound up with more photos than I could use. Most of these photos are high quality and should provide a realism improvement for your CFS2 Pacific install.

Kurt,

I echo Stefano's sentiments. These really are incredible. Thank you so much for these! :encouragement:

Oops. I missed a couple screens in the US Marine Corps UIRES

I got ahead of myself when I posted the US Marines UIRES set and left out the Mission Builder screen and the correct Training Mission screen. I've asked Rami to put these in the download zip file.

Outstanding!

Isn't that great? :applause: :applause: :applause:

Mission Builder screen made with a WWII picture showing US Navy Seabees building an airstrip! What could be more proper?

Capt. Kurt, your ability to find incredible WWII colour pictures is beyond magician's skills!

Cheers!

Hi Captain Kurt,

I just loaded your uires and they do look good.

Did you colorize black and white photos or were these Kodachrome already?
If you did colorize them, which paint program did you use?

Thanks!
Dv

Hi Dave,

I did no work on these. Most of them were original kodachromes. I think a couple of the pilot photos are colorized but I was not the artist that did them. I think one pic may have even been hand colorized on the print by the photographer like they sometimes did with chalk and oils back in the '40s.

But I have no real information on most of these photos. So many are just posted somewhere with no data or explanations associated with them.
