PTO Solomons ,PTO Rising Sun, ETO Expansion
Been working on adding rivers, lakes, roads, RRs, shipping lanes to the Sino Theater of Rising Sun. The ETO/PTO team has the update for testing. The formosa Island portion is the most complete portion of the theater. There is still alot of work to be done on the mainland china portion which will be deferred for now as I move over to the PNG theater for some update work.
There are some new methods which have been tried in the sino update. By creating the airfield roads and runways as areas they become part of the terrain mos vectors and do not need to be generated via facilties files. Buildings for the airfields and facilities like railyards or ports are still added to the theater via facilties files in missions or in the gl.
Another unique item is that railroad tracks have been overlayed on top of roads in those cases where they were present in the real world.
In the update there is a major scenery change. The Sino and AVG now have temperate climate terrain. When a theater is selected new batch files are called out in the theater selector batch file which will change the terrain from jungle or china terrain depending upon the theater selected.
