upcoming GAS Waco - beta

heywooood

Mayor Emeritus of Taco City
the New UBF-2 Waco from Golden Age Simulations is being pulled out onto the apron for walk around..looks good, no oil streaks, fuel leaks or excessive wear. Flying and Control wires are tight and free from wear
or corrosion, fabric covering is tight and shows no tearing or seam separations. Control surfaces are free and easy. No apparent engine leaks - all wiring connections are good and the prop is clean.

ok - engine and instrument checks complete - mag check and engine RPM in the green and the tanks topped off ready on the active for a quick circuit at Cottonwood IL57

beauty - no need for full throttle as this airplane was built for speed.
the installer lets you choose FSX boxed, FSX:SE or P3D
the package includes the SPB in Peru for the float equipped 'explorer' version *cough* Raiders of the something something *cough*
as well as the Wilmington 'Catalina' terminal and the Catalina Island SPB AND the Poughkeepsie airfield scenery from previous GAS releases. All very well executed.

a relatively short squawk list so far could mean a short wait for general release -
For my part it would be a plus if a landing light could be added for my favorite dawn/dusk flight environment and maybe a removable forward cockpit cover option..aka the Alabeo UPF-7
but it is not critical to my extreme happiness with this GAS beauty as it sits. I think everyone will be pleased with the package that includes 4 nice scenery areas and both wheeled and float equipped versions of the F-2
Great job again by the GAS house team - many thanks

it's a real smile inducer, Falcon

I should mention I use Win7 64 FSX Boxed and none of these screenshots are edited in any way.
Frame rates are as usual with GAS aircraft unaffected by this model.

Thanks Roger, I was hoping no one would post that screw up :) - Yup,, I somehow sent Paul a texture with the N number on the wrong wing (old age, too much or too little coffee, pick an excuse). Now fixed and on the bottom of the bottom wing.

hey - don't beat yourself up TDR, that's the bosses job...
All the paints look great - I couldn't find any thumbprints or runs anywhere - and I looked.
..just the one reg. mishap so yer batting .900 or so - get you in the HOF an average like that

At the urging of the team an single seat closed front 'pit version is added along with the full light package and a throw back livery to FS 2004

Another addition? That's what is so great about you guys, you make so many versions in one release. I'm looking forward to it and thanks for the "Single" cockpit version.

*GASP* Oh that looks GOOOD..as do the retractable landing lights...
The airplane was rolled out to the Beta test group in practically flawless condition..Ready for Flight. Since we couldn't find anything wrong we decided to
ask them fellers at GAS for stuff we WANTED instead...just to keep them honest as it were. Being first rate - they went ahead and filled our list. Thank you, Gil, Jim, TDR and Paul
and if I missed anyone - Thank You too.

this paint scheme looks good on floats...
I have been rediscovering the PNW seaplane bases - I didn't realize what a rut I was in.
There is a ton of scenery I haven't really been using and now I have the perfect traveler for it.

my emai service is down - but I got the .cfg seaplane update

Cant send emails just now so I am posting here.
The updated .cfg file is GOOD

also PM'd the Skipper
