I would suggest that Bruce should show a screenshot like what I did. I clicked on something first on that shift+2 panel to make the values changeable. Maybe it all happened in a Super chicken burrito haze???

I have tried a fresh download - re-install but I still have the issue. No change.
I guess this implies it's something specific to my system.
I am running W7 64 Home with FSX Steam. I wonder if it's something to do with permissions. I thought I had all the FSX stuff running as administrator but I'll admit I don't really get that permissions nonsense.

Window Sounds
Now this is a REALLY trivial point but I raise it just to let the creators of this fantastic bird know that every little area of functionality is being explored.
Flying in FSX, halfway from Santorini to Heraklion at 3500 feet over the Mediterranean, Ernie announced "Better open a window, someone's just been sick back there." So, always wanting to keep my co-pilot happy I obliged. So far, so draughty.
My problem came once Nancy had cleared up the mess, when I shut the window. The sound of the wind outside cuts out as soon as the window sliding animation starts. In an ideal world I guess it should stop when the window is actually closed. Is this even possible?
If not, I guess I'll just have to concentrate on flying more smoothly in future....

Hehe, Ernie has some funny stuff to throw in.
He made me crack up once in a tense situation while descending through a bad weather cloud layer. He suddenly went like that: "Hey Skipper, don't tell Momma I'm a co-pilot. She think's I'm playing piano in some bar".
Nancy can also surpise with some funny remarks.
I wonder if the list of varieties or functions could be expanded. The interactivity and also the great checklist system of that C-47 release is one aspect that makes this aircraft one of my top favourites.

Just curious about the interaction between "The Skipper" and "Ernie". Obviously some of it is just routine cockpit banter, but do any of the interactions mean anything as far as the aircraft goes?
I realize the engine startup "back and forth" is directly influenced by the aircraft itself...
"Engine 2 starting up"
"Oil Pressure...yep, it's good"
"Engine 1 stabilized"
...etc
However, once at cruise and en route, properly trimmed and set every once in a while Ernie will say "I keep hearing a noise, but not sure what it is." Today, out of the blue, Skipper said, "What's going on Ernie" to which Ernie replied, "I'm not sure Skipper, I haven't figured it out." or something to that effect. Are these something I should be worrying about? I checked everything and even looked at the overhead (Shift+4) to see what the goonie was trying to tell me, but everything looked normal.
Ideas?

I have to say those comments between the stewardess and the flight crew are quite stupid. The only negative thing on this bird.
They do require a sense of humour and the humourless have been
catered for by the option not to select the stewardess.
I have never heard anyone seeing me as a humourless person, quite opposite actually. I think it's more about your personal taste.
The thing with humour is that it doesn't travel well.
Numerous British and American comedians can attest to this.
For this reason, it is never a good idea to condemn someone's humour as
"quite stupid", however much it might upset one's personal taste.
Personally, I like the comments and do not find them in the least stupid.
I don't think I have heard them all yet and they still make me smile.

As much as I enjoy all the comments, no one has answered the question I asked in my post I think because it was the last post on the previous page and people are just going to this new "last page" to read comments and don't see my question, a question I'd really, really like the answer to.
To repeat that question from the previous page, once airborne and at cruise with the aircraft set up properly, do the interactions between "the Skipper" and Ernie mean anything as it relates to the aircraft itself and the various settings or switches?
I know when Ernie says the engines are getting a little hot I need to open the cowl flaps a bit, or throttle back a bit, or make some change to reduce CHTs. What I don't know is when Ernie tells "the Skipper" (me) that he keeps hearing a strange sound should I, the "Skipper", be looking at the instruments to find a source for the "strange sound" (I always do and everything looks and sounds normal) or is this just part of the "cockpit banter" with no relationship to what is happening to the aircraft at that particular moment?
The one that prompted this post happened yesterday with the "Skipper" saying "What's going on, Ernie?" and Ernie replying "I'm not sure, Skipper." I looked and looked and listened and listened and nothing seemed "out of normal", but I kept looking anyway all the way to my destination. I felt like I was in the movie "The High and the Mighty" as John Wayne's character or rereading Ernest K. Gann's book "Fate is the Hunter".
