Updated DP for Morton/Presley/Da Silva Texan LT-6G Mosquito uploaded!

A good day to everybody! :wavey:

As announced on last April 29th, I just uploaded an updated damage profile (*dp) file for Denis Da Silva/Cliff Presley's, North American LT-6G "Mosquito" FS2004 model available at:

http://www.simviation.com/fs2004vintage42.htm

recently converted and repainted for CFS2 by Morton. I strongly suggest anybody to download the original aircraft. Cliff Presley's pack includes historical notes plus very nice colour pictures of LT-6Gs during the Korean War and their airbase.

This updated dp contains Old Wheat's 2.5" smoke marker rockets and wing pylons (enclosed) used by USAF LT-6Gs in Korea.

My previous dp file adaptation is included in Morton's Korean War historical repaint pack. At the time, I used Massimo Taccoli's P-80 Shooting Star wing pylons and old VB Planes' German WWII R4M rockets to simulate the 2.5" smoke marker rockets used by USAF in Korea. I was not aware Old Wheat had created accurate LT-6G wing pylons and smoke markers. Sorry OW, I truly missed it!

When Old Wheat sent me his pylons and rockets, I reworked the dp file to accomodate his historical payloads under this splendid LT-6G model wings. I hope you will like the result.

I also included the LT-6G Flight Model (aircraft.cfg and airfile) updated with the corrections for CFS2 attached by Milton Shupe to Morton's thread announcing his upload. I added historical notes to the airfile and the aircraft name in the aircraft.cfg is referred to the original LTA-542 skin but can be used for all of Morton's repaints, being the 6147th Tactical Control Group, 6149th TACS, the only unit operating LT-6Gs throughout the 1950-53 Korean conflict.

Old Wheat warns his rockets do not work properly in CFS2, meaning they do not create a smoke mark, but will explode like any other rocket. I tried adding to these rockets dp file the smoke marker effect available in CFS2, but I got no cigar.
After many unsuccesful attempts, I became frustrated and decided to include my modified rocket dp in Old Wheat's pack, leaving the task to anyone else who might know how weapon dp files work in CFS2 better than I do.

I uploaded the pack in SOH's "CFS2-Other" section.

Enjoy!

A lot of people have tried but no joy to date. I'm still not convinced that it is undoable but it may require some serious thinking 'outside the box' :banghead: :banghead:
