Updates and beta testing...

Good evening,

I have gone through my packages (both on my website and here) making several updates to them, mostly to the readme files and the AIRCRAFT folders.

(Also, for certain campaigns, I've utilized the Ju-52 we now have...)

Two aircraft, the P-38 (H and J) along with the FDG P-47 razorback Thunderbolt, have undergone considerable improvements. The P-38s have updated .cfg and .air files by Pen32Win, and the FDG P-47 has a new .cfg and .air file from me which provides proper performance while still giving you the "heaviness" of a P-47 Jug.

I also have sixteen of the twenty-nine missions completed for the 486th Fighter Squadron update, and will continue working on them. The readme for the beta testing package contains a lot of file links which you will likely have if you have installed Mosquito Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, Battle for Europe, Dora, Pfeil, & Spitfire, or Operation Frantic.

Please feel free to beta test these missions, and any information or feedback you can provide would be very much appreciated. If there are any problems, this would be the time to mention it. The missions within this are fighter sweeps, strikes, and bomber escorts. All of the missions into France are included, but I have not done most of the deep-penetration missions into the Third Reich just yet. I will begin working on these final thirteen missions tonight and tomorrow.

Thank you,

I had to update the readme at 9:30pm in order to add a link to Pen32Win's flak guns.

To all,

A newer version has been uploaded on 03/06/2011, which includes mission 26, mission 13, and an update to mission 11, as well as the inclusion of the files in the AIRCRAFT folder for the P-38H Lightning.

Now, eighteen of the twenty-nine missions are completed.

Good evening,

I found another error, this time with the first (mission twenty-six) Berlin-targeted mission. I also finished the second one. Mission fifteen consists of escorting B-17s, and mission twenty-six is escorting B-24 Liberators.

This leaves only ten missions to go. The missions to Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Schweinfurt, and Ludwigshafen all utilize Ettico's EuroTargets, the rest I created myself.

Good evening,

Well, I'm going to have two more missions done tonight. Both Pen32Win and Captain Kurt have been instrumental in solving the "altitude porpoising" of the FDG B-17s, so now they're much steadier in flight. It turns out they contained airfile elements which they shouldn't have had.

Also, I think I found my campaign picture. It's not a P-51, but what the hell. The caption should read..."Somewhere over the Third Reich."

Here is the latest version as of 03/07/2011, updated to include missions twelve and fourteen, so that makes twenty-one out of twenty-nine missions completed.

Good evening,

I added two more missions to the package and updated the readme. We're now up to twenty-three missions completed.

Tuskegee Airmen Revamp

Rami,
I am inundated with work issues and family stuff.

I have flown several of the missions and they are great.

It has been weeks since I have been able to even get online, let alone sit down and do any mission building.

Go ahead and finalize the campaign in the manner you are already doing with updates and sceneries.

You have my full endorsement and blessings on it.

Lee

Devildog,

I'd love to...but I can't proceed without Afnor, Part II. Still waiting for Jean Bomber on that one.

Any word on the departure date for Deutschland?

If you need any help or a friendly ear, just let me know.

BTW...if anyone wants an advanced copy to test, let me know. Missions 1 and 2 will just be a little off, because you won't have the Casablanca scenery. The other 102 missions (that's not a typo!) will work just fine.

Another update...

Hey all,

I haven't had much time to work on this lately, but I have another two missions done, which brings the total to twenty-five. So far, my favorite escort missions into Germany are missions six, seven, fifteen, and twenty-six.

All of these missions split the formation over the target area, just to give you a bit more complexity and area to cover. One also consists of mixed types, separated by altitude, but you're only responsible for the B-17s, the P-38s will cover the Liberators.

There are also some cool strikes on German aerodromes, as well as train depots, and even over the Normandy shore on D-day. I'll try to finish it as soon as possible.

BTW...I've discovered the P-47 now needs a healthy dose of port trim to keep the wings level.

Flying refrigerator

Last night, after loading some new planes as per Rami´s 486´s missions guide I flew some of them. Great missions!:jump: Lots of fun. With Pen32´s new flak cannons and MG.:bump:

In one mission to Paris in a VB-P51b the plane acted more like I was flying a refrigerator. No. Being honest, I think my refrigerator would have flown better!

In the middle of a furball with some FW190 I had some messages saying I had mounted droppable wing tanks when actually I had dropped them some minutes ago (messages checked, visually checked that my wings were clean). When in the furball and the "misterious" message appeared there weren´t any tanks to see under my wings, but after pressing enter twice and selecting F6 I could see them falling ¿?. Even though, the plane continued flying like fully loaded with stones. I had to use flaps and reduce engine rpm to try to stay behind the Butcher´s. And I stalled 3 times. Not very common for me.

I´ll try to repeat it in this days and see what happens.

Cheers, Discus:salute:

I set this up to use the FDG P-51b, and I can also loan you Captain Kurt's P-51b files. He helped me with the FDG P-47 as well.

You are right! I wasn´t on my home PC where I have CFS2. Haven´t got time yet to fly again but will try today.

Thanks, Discus

Good evening,

Here is the latest update to the 486th Fighter Squadron, there's only one mission to go, so I hope to bang it out this weekend, if I can crowbar in the time.
