Looking great! Your work is much appreciated!

Just one question/remark: Is it realistic with that much sand/gravel on the surface of the USAF Phantom revetment area? From my experience so is the fast jets users very anxious about FOD.

Your right. Will change this.

Klaus, the scenery is looking very good and I figured it could use some Da Nang specific AI.

So, I just uploaded two Da Nang related AI texture packs at AVSIM, under the Flight Simulator X - Aircraft Repaints, Textures and Modifications category.

One is for thirteen 366 TFW Da Nang based F-4C Phantoms ca. 1966-1967 ( nmai_f-4cv2_phantom_early_366_tfw_da_nang.zip ) and one for nine 366 TFW Da Nang based F-4D Phantoms ca. 1968-1969 ( nmai_f-4dv2_phantom_early_366_tfw_da_nang.zip )......although the F-4D's were uploaded this morning and haven't shown up for download yet.
The textures work with the NMAI_V2_Phantom-F-4C_Traffic.zip and NMAI_V2_Phantom-F-4D_Traffic.zip AI packs available at MAIW and AVSIM.
Even though the original AI was created for FS2004, they seem to work just fine in FSX. Also they each include a traffic file that has them flying touch and go around the base.

Screenshots below were taken with Vietnam War project version of Da Nang....

Klaus,
Thanks for including the OASU/VX-8 Connies!

Of the Connies, only "627" was based at DaNang and flew evening missions up to the
area off Hai Phong to do out broadcasting.

"444", "641" and "655" were based at Tan Son Nhut and normally only 2 of the 3.
When one of the two there rotated back to Pax River, he odd man out replaced that
aircraft at Tan Son Nhut.

Occasionally one of the Saigon aircraft flew up to DaNang to deliver parts or new air crew
but never stayed long.

Hope i will end this one this week. First part of airtraffic is ready with about 400 ai-planes over the north part of vietnam (DaNang to Hanoi). Will do another part for the south part of vietnam in the near future. Ai Ship traffic is also ready with about 50 ships in reagion.

Next that must be done is the readme.

Greetings
Klaus

Excellent work there Klaus. I never got to Da Nang but remember it was a very busy base during the time I was in country (arrived 6 months after the "Tet Offensive"), was stationed at Binh Thuy AB. Keep up the good work. Do you have plans to do any other bases in that region?

Hi Klaus, I did the german hospital ship Helgoland which was placed in Danang. I can send you a copy if you want.
Best regards
Henrik

Next one will be Pleiku Air Base. Will start this after ending Da Nang. But this will take some time, because i will end my Inchon landing of Korean War also in near future and their is a lot of work to do for the ai-traffic.

@Hendrik : That would be very nice if you will give that to me for the Da Nang scenery. :applause: Just will have a look in what place of harbour it was during the war.

Just recived Henriks very well done model of the german hospital ship MS Helgoland from his offer and put it to the scenery at the historic place where it has been stationed during 4 years in vietnam war. This model is used as ai traffic and sometimes it leaves his place at pier and turned to the sea outside of vietnam waters to be resuplied by another german ship (like it is done in real during her staying in Da Nang).

First shots from this one in the upcoming scenery.

The MS Helgoland at her place in Da Nang right beside the land based hospital station.

And a little bit of the ai-traffic from scenery

Fleet on Yankey Station (the model of the enterprise will not be part of this scenery. It`s payware. If you own this one, you will find a traffic file for this one inside the scenery and you can change the traffic to this carrier. Normaly there will be a model from the midway (freeware) inside.

For your AI, you can use this texture set of 13 different Da Nang based F-4C's available at AVSIM: nmai_f-4cv2_phantom_early_366_tfw_da_nang.zip

I'll also be uploading some Da Nang F-4D textures there very soon.

I was on Okinawa, at Kadena AFB during this time, working in the bomb dump. Will definitely be looking forward to this package. Thank You for this, Klaus.
