Surprised it took POSKY this long to come out with this variant. Along with the wedge-tail AEW, they're ensuring complete coverage of B737 derivatives.

But I'm going to those four turnin' on the P-3s.

Of all the stock aircraft that came with FS9, I initially started with the 737, and enjoyed flying that one overall. I have numerous POSKY 737 variants including the Wedgetail. The P-8A will be a nice addition. Thanks for the H/U.:bump:

The first thing I thought of when I got this was what squadrons are going to get the honor of appearing as repaints. Most Reserve P-3 and a lot of Active P-3 units are history now but VP-65, VP-91,and VP-9 would be the ones to have in my hanger. ( a shameless hint for the repaint artists)

My only gripe is the panel, there are far better addon ones out there and it shouldn't take much to merge the unique features of the POSKY panel with a new one.

Looking over the P-8 I noticed some errors with the ordnance load.

The SLAMs have the wrong designation,AGM-844, the correct one is AGM-84E.

SLAMs are also missing the brown band indicating a working motor is installed.

The Mk 80 series bomb bodies should have two yellow bands on the nose instead of one. Two indicates a thermally protected weapon.

I got out FS Repaint and did the changes. I also recolored/redesignated the ordnance to indicate training rounds,ie; Captive Air Training Missile (CATM-84), BDU-45 in blue paint. If anyone wants these textures PM me and I'll be happy to share.

I know that these are "rivet counter" gripes but to an Ordnanceman the just stand out. I'll put up some in game shots this weekend.

That's not rivet counting... that's the ultimate in quality control.

As promised here's a shot of the "corrected' AGM-84E SLAMs. Plese note that all I did was edit the text and add the correct striping for a "live" missile. The textures still belong to POSKY and the did a as fine a job as they could without hands on knowledge of air launched ordnance. I have a feeling the motor band is too far to the rear but I was afraid of using a rivet line too far forward so this is my best guess.

Nice job. Glad we have your naval ordnance eye of detail. I'd be interested in your revised textures if possible.

Didn't try that one, however I did find a good one on Flightsim.com that works for me. I tried to get one close to the actual one found here....

There are instructions in the POSKY utility folder on manually adding that window so I did that along with installing a HUD.

Tom, as for the missed details, what I found are things only an ordie would find. The general public would not know the meaning of the the yellow bands on a weapon, to most yellow means "live". I am surprised that they got the texture on the Mk 82/83 bomb bodies to look like the "gator" skin that's on them in real life. This is a compound that slows heating during a fire or other mishap and looks like thick spackel or cement with a very rough surface. I've not seen that detail added on anything in FS before.

Good idea to add the HUD...
Here's a totally gratuitous shot (I recently found a hi-res moon y'see) of this fine bird.
I'm spending some quality time with it, I find.
