Use or necessity of using MOS files for 'flattening' out auto gen trees etc in the middle of facilities?

As the title suggests, do I have to use a MOS file to 'flatten' out the space where I want to put a facility without auto gen trees or whatever appearing tin the middle of it, or is there another way?

No James, you just need the global layer entry to set the location and a facility file to define the size. Have a look at those named "empty_land_xxxx" in the ETO and BoB.

The .mos file just carries the required ground textures.

I was wondering if the empty land ones would be useful. I'll check. I'm trying to make a reasonably accurate Peenemunde site involving about 5 separate facilities placed in historically accurate places, and testing them just as added mission facilities has allowed auto-gen stuff to appear in the middle. On the other hand, if I could place one of those over say dirt/grass runway MOS files, it might be relatively realistic.
