Description: Usio's IJN Isuzu. A Nagara class light cruiser, Isuzu was commissioned 15 Aug 1923, on China patrols pre-war. Damaged in the Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, returned to Japan for repairs and upgrades.Further convoy escort resulted in more heavy damage and in Jan 1944 was converted to an Anti-aircraft Cruiser. Sunk 7 Apr 1945 off Sumbawa, DEI, by submarines USS Gabilan & USS Char.

Description: Usio's IJN Sendai. A Sendai class light cruiser, commissioned Apr 1924, Yangtze River and China patrol from 1925. Involved in the Malaya invasion, then the Solomon Islands from July 1942. On 2 November 1943, at the Battle of Empress Augusta Bay, Sendai took major 6" fire from USS Cleveland, Columbia, Montpelier and Denver and sank the following morning.

Description: Usio's IJN Mogami. A Mogami class heavy cruiser, launched Mar 1934, commissioned Jul 1935, rebuilt 1937. Took part in the invasion of the DEI, the battle of Sunda Strait, helping sink HMAS Perth and USS Houston. Involved in a collision at Wake and limped back to Japan for major repairs and rebuild. In Oct 1944 at the Battle of Leyte Gulf, Mogami, heavily damaged by a collision with the cruiser Nachi, cruiser gunfire, and aerial attack was abandoned and scuttled by the destroyer Akebono

Description: Usio's IJN Kumano. A "Mogami" class heavy cruiser, launched Oct 1936, commissioned Oct 1937, rebuilt 1937-Oct 1939. Served in the Malaya invasion, D.E.I., Indian ocean raids, Midway, the Solomons and the Phillipines. On 25 October 1944,Kumano was part of the Japanese Central Force in the Battle off Samar and took heavy damage, limping into Manila for repairs. Departing Manila for Taiwan on 6 November 1944 off Cape Bolinao, Luzon, Kumano was hit by 2 torpedoes and was towed into Santa Cruz. On 25 November 1944, Kumano came under attack by aircraft launched by the carrier USS Ticonderoga. She was hit by five torpedoes and four 500 lb (230 kg) bombs, and at 15:15 she rolled over and sank.

Description: Usio's IJN Fubuki. A "Fubuki" class Destroyer, launched Nov 1927, commissioned Aug 1928. Involved in the Malaya invasion, Battle of Sunda Strait, invasion of Sumatra then back to Kure. Involved in the Battle for Midway, then to the Solomons. On 11 October 1942, in the Battle of Cape Esperance, she was sunk by gunfire of a US cruiser/destroyer group.

Description: Usio's IJN Hatsuyuki. A "Fubuki" class Destroyer, launched Sep 1928, commissioned Mar 1929. Operated off China, Malayan peninsular invasions, the Battle of Sunda Strait, Sumatra, Midway, then the Solomons, on "Tokyo Express" duties. On 17 July 1943, while docked at Shortland, a USAAF airstrike sent a bomb into her after magazine and she sunk in shallow water.

Description: Usio's IJN Hatsuzuki. An "Akizuki" class Destroyer/escort, launched Apr 1942, commissioned Dec 1942. Oct 1944 part of the force opposing allied landings in the Leyte Gulf. On 25 October, in the Battle off Cape Engaño, she was sunk by a US cruiser-destroyer group, while covering the rescue of survivors of the aircraft carriers Zuikaku and Zuihō.

Description: Usio's IJN Kagero. A "Kagero" class Destroyer, launched Sep 1938, commissioned Nov 1939. In the Kuriles at Pearl Harbour, then to Rabaul, back to Yokosuka the to the DEI. In the Indian Ocean raid, then to Saipan, Midway, the Aleutians before becoming part of the "Tokyo Express" in the Solomons. On 7 May 1943, Kagero was disabled by a mine while leaving Vila. She was then attacked by allied aircraft and sank SW of Rendova.
