usios' ships

Have you guys noticied something about Usio's beautiful ships? I loaded them all as SHJ's and did a few missions against them in SBD's and TBD's. Besides being damn beautiful looking and prolific in AA ( lot MORE realistic ) the turrets seem to track you and your wingmen.
At first I thought I was seeing things then flew alonside after dropping some AS's on a cruiser and it's turrets tracked me ( or so it seemed!) and splashed me ( then again it could have been my flying!).l

Not only that, but with Pen32's updated DP files, they actually have a muzzle blast that flashes and then leaves a black cloud. I've got a screen shot of that somewhere, but I can't seem to find it right now. It's an effects trick added through the DP.

Fibber,

The Shore Bombardment package just has one US cruiser set up in this manner, but it does contain instructions on how to set the DP up to accomplish the effect as I recall. It is in all of my installations as the effects package with it is worth the download all by itself.

I also posted that trick in the last "Tips & Tricks" Thread we had up a few weeks ago.

Usio makes some first rate ships that's for sure and certain but his AA Guns are over stated and overly accurate. The IJN had major problems with the T&E speed of almost all of its mounts. Also the 25mm didn't fire airburst shells. They were contact burst only and the 15 round magazines dropped its sustained firing rate to about 150 Rnds per minute. Reloading it was a royal pain.

Looks lke you're having some fun tonight Jagd!:ernae:

Another problem that the IJN and IJA had with there AA guns was ,they couldn`t track enemy aircraft that came at them bombing from 12,000FT.The airburst went off at eather 11,000 or 13,000FT.I never knew that untill I saw it on the History Chanel.A B-26 pilot said that when level boming they tried to stay at 12,000FT in order to keep from getting hit by AA while over an enemy target.

So what is the best way to get them to ease up on us rookie bombers? I usually change the distance, rate of fire, and sometimes the damage points. What do you guys do?
