Two new repaints of Manfred Jahn's C-47. The first is an R4D-6 assigned to MCAS Quantico circa 1958.
Please see the most recent updates in the "Where did the .com name go?" thread. Posts number 16 and 17.
Doing my best to increase the proper representation of the Corps. There's too much air force and navy stuff around!!!!!!! SEMPER FI!!!!
(I don't know why they had a zoomie in the color guard, at the 1958 MCAAS decommissioning, but it must've be a whole lot more windy where he was standing...)

They look great! I'm looking forward to flying them, Thanks!
On another note.....
Hey now, you wouldn't want a zoomie to remind a valiant Marine of the proper position of a service flag at "Present Arms" would you? It looks to me that the USAF Flag is correctly dipped forward; your Marine needs to work on his "perpendicular to the deck at all times" interpretation. I would bring up the officers salute, but all you have to do is mention a certain USAF LtCol. with backwards epaulets and it kind of loses the punch.

Ok Here's the bare metal version circa 1949, this one was assigned to FMFATL (The Jarheads will know what this stands for). It sports the short lived scarlet fin flash with USMARINES lettered in it. Extra points to the person who identifies the airport it's flying over in the last shot. I'll upload real soon.
