A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FSX Ships

Description: The USNS Mercy is the lead ship of her class of Hospital ships in the US Navy. This model for FSX has been transformed (with permission) from the one created by the Google team. Includes a landable deck for those who like difficult maneuvers with choppers. To be used with AI carriers.

They've got this ship pegged, it's accurate down to the details. I rode its sister, the Comfort, from Baltimore to Pascagoula and New Orleans and back in 2005 and what you see in the model is the way it is in real life. If you can get a CH-53 onto the landing pad you're an accomplished pilot, I watched it being done for real.

Too bad there's not one for FS9.

The FS9 version is available at simviation. This file includes 4 sceneries. 1. The USNS Mercy at her home port in San Diego, with a landable hospital in the city. 2. The USNS Comfort in Baltimore. 3. The USNS Comfort in Haiti, together with the SNS Castilla, also landable, a Spanish ship which also was there to help the people of Haiti. 4. A rescue mission near the Maroccoan coast with several ships and a shipwreck.
