USS Antietam CV-36 - US Navy first angled-deck carrier

Richard (tgycgijoes) did a nice repaint for Tim Conrad's Skyraider (with permuission to release it with the models) and so i did a special version with this plane on deck. Thank you very much for this fine art of work Richard.
Hope you will enjoy this model too.

Hello Klaus,

That's looking absolutely delightful. I'm thrilled the mid- / late- 50s USN carrier aviation is getting some long-deserved attention. I never knew A-1s were used in this kind of training role, so it'll be wonderful to have another reason to dig that lovely Tim Conrad bird out. Still looks and flies great after so many years. Between this and the lovely Cougars and Banshees, there's lots of ways to enjoy this great period.

Best regards,

dl

When I saw this spad in orange/white trainer colors as a VT (Trainer) it piqued my curiosity for pics and info of the real deal.

Found out this was part of the skyraider FAM training done at VT-30.

All Because

All 'cause I spotted some SPADs on the stern. It is really interesting to me to learn more and more as I (we) examine the history and the background behind the aircraft and the ships we recreate. Thank you for that post on the training. :encouragement:

Yes, agreed. I was just thinking about this thread yesterday and was thrilled to see the updated screen shots.

Thanks so much in advance, Klaus!

Klaus, the carrier and deck load-out look great. Am I correct that tgycgijoes' Spad repaint will be included in the CV package?

Anyone hear from Klaus recently?

I sure hope he is alright. This corona virus is hitting hard in many places and so many are very sick. I remember we all had swine flu on base back in '75 when I was in the military. Many of us were bedridden for about 1 week. It happened about 2 days after getting the alleged shot for it...been wondering ever since if we were just a part of some military "study."

Again I hope Klaus is ok...

At this point I'd just like to see Klaus do a "check in" post. I'm not worried about the Antietam project for now... Heck, I have a whole FSX Navy full of his carriers. :D

Anyone

Has anyone sent him a Private Message and asked how he is or what has happened? I did the last time and he just was very busy and appreciated us concerned about his welfare and that of his family.

I sent him a PM a couple minutes ago, hopefully he'll give me (or us) a reply.

Thank you for having so many here concerned about my whereabouts.
Everything's fine.
For professional reasons (stay in a protected military facility) I was not able to communicate with the outside world during the last weeks.

I hope that this weekend I will finally find the opportunity to publish the finished models and to work on the other projects (airports) as well. I ask there still for a little bit patience.

Thanks to all.
Klaus

Given the times we are in, and your "sudden" stop in communication, we were more worried about you than anything else. I'm glad your ok.
