Model by FSX's own Virtual Navy, originaly for CFS2
updated to FSX acceleration

Beta test version.0

issues:

JBD stbd cat locked up
elevator a little squidgy
textures need reworking
needs meatball
needs transperancies adjusted

good news:

4 wires where they're marked on the deck
waist and bow cats operational.
attached effects
Gearing landable, though it was a DASH pad, and railing bmp needs alpha, material is already set to transparent.

Arno's new version of MDLX was able to compile this one with out crashing, and a whole bunch more. Its really like a new tool box full of new tools. Great news for for us.
Big tip O the hat to VN for dispensation to tinker with his library. She is a really nice model all in all, though the textures need overhauling while I grapple with the meatball.
Any painters want to volunteer?
Have fun.

Thank you for the heads up! I only had the honor of being on board the Coral Maru for one week (carquals for VFA-106). But she was a very clean ship, and the crew was very friendly. Oh, and the CPO mess food was GREAT! NC

Perfect, now to figure out a route from Key West NAS to Corpus Christi NAS. Now just need a USS Lexington for Corpus Christi.

My Dad was Avionics Officer with VF-151 (the Vigilantes) F-4B squadron aboard the Coral Sea in the '64/65 time frame off Viet-nam, That was a 12 month
deployment for him. Most deployments were 6-9 months. I asked my detailer to be assigned with my Dad's squadron and at first it was granted but my Dad had my orders
changed, reason: he didn't want the appearance of favoritism from officer to enlisted. Ended up with a F-8 outfit on USS Hancock (deployed westpac).

I made three deployments on Coral Sea with Light Photographic Squadron 63 (VFP-63). Two of them during Vietnam 1968-70 and back aboard in 1979 during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Top performing ship even in her final years. How they got another 10 years' service out of the ship's fresh water plant I'll never know, we were frequently on water hours during the 79-80 cruise.
