USS Enterprise CV-6

Don't ask...:icon_lol:
I see what you mean, WH. Slew right, as soon as you get off the deck edge you start falling behind the ship so push the plane forward, drop down a bit, slew back into the hangar bay, keep moving forward until you touch the deck. A few guys standing around, a couple SBD's. Nice eye candy but really not worth messing with if the elevators don't work.

Here ya go, I titled it "Vertigo CV-6 Enterprise" because I have the other FSX CV-6's too. Enter this at the bottom of your aicarriers.cfg file and make XX the next sequential formation #.

[formation.XX]
title=Vertigo CV-6 Enterprise
unit.0=CV-6 Enterprise, 0, 0

Thanks, TARPSBird. Off to fly!

Did you by any chance make a typing error? You can block the text in the manual (shift+mouse) and then save it as wordfile (and then hopefully, but I haven’t tried yet) copy it into your panel file).<o:p></o:p>

Does anyone know where I can find the entries for AICarriers? They do not seem to be in the manual.
This is per the manual on the various panel.cfg files..

To activate and animate the LSO, add the following lines to the panel.cfg for the aircraft you wish to use with the CV-6.

WindowXX=Batsman
//--------------------------------------------------------
[WindowXX]

size_mm=256,256
windowsize_ratio=1.0
window_pos= 0.75, 0.0
position=8
visible=1
ident=10004
gauge00=vstudios!LSO.xml, 0, 0, 256, 256
//--------------------------------------------------------

No rocket science here. I did notice that the entry references an xml file instead of a specific gauge. the vstudios folder is in the right location with all the right files.

Maybe not rocket science, but something still isn't working. I edited the Vertigo Hellcat's panel.cfg file per the above lines from the manual, and also copied the FDO.xml gauge to the Hellcat's panel folder. Now the LSO appears in the panel window but there's no animation, he just stands there with arms horizontal. I flew several really lousy high/low/off-centerline passes on purpose to get a response from him, and got nothing. WH, is your guy working OK now?

Nope. I did figure out the "pilotable" vessel and saved a flight with the carrier in Puget Sound. But as for the LSO, he's got pretty stiff arms by now. :icon_lol:
The boy's gonna be sore by tomorrow, LOL. But maybe Vertigo will respond to your customer service ticket by then, I'm sure they've gotten others with the same problem. Still a very nice ship to fly on and off of, even though the LSO is on strike. :)

Seriously no one else having issues with Paypal? Do most of you have paypal accounts? Sure not working with my debit card.Been trying to buy this since release.

I've had the same PayPal account since 2001. Flight sim, eBay and model railroad purchases all go through fine. Transactions go through quick, never any problems and no security issues.

Ok that splains it must be a debit card issue. Might be time to go all official Paypal.
Thanks! :salute:
Sure do want this one want to see if I can do a Hornet skin for it.

It seems to me that the amount of detail, especially on the deck, makes it easier than with other carriers to maintain the right flightpath during landing. My only wish would be that there would be the possibility to have planes on the deck. Landing with a forward deck full of plans should ad to immersion. I know that planes carried varied by period, but I don’t mind that too much, if the option of an empty deck were maintained.

Wonder if a Korean War era boat will ever materialise, though ... Thank goodness for Mr Davies' Leyte and Laz' Ocean ... :)

DL

I believe this is the Korean era CV-6, since it has the grey deck planking and catapults on the bow. The WWII CV-6 didn't have the catapults, to my knowledge, but I'm not really much of an expert on the WWII era boats.

EDIT: Maybe it did have catapults, after all. I just started looking at some data on the boat, and it seems the CV-6 did have some catapults. Although the photos of the boat in ww2 have a deck that looks quite a lot different than the deck on this model.

Big E did have hydraulic catapults throughout her service life. When she went through the 1943 overhaul in Bremerton she got new cats as shown on the Vertigo model, which BTW is the 1944-45 configuration she finished the war with. A real shame that Enterprise was not preserved rather than scrapped. How nice it would be to come aboard and visit the ready rooms or walk around the flight deck, you could feel the history. :USA-flag:
