Doing the Big E 44 campaign my son runways in the Marshall Islands have the wrong coordinates for the MB,planes crash on take off.He is fixing them as he goes along.Just thought you should know.

Also do you have any plans of doing the Marianas?I know Maskrider did it years ago but US bases.The stock bases are so bland.If you do decide to do it there is no rush as he is just started the Raids in January 1944 and since he started school this week he can only work on missions on the weekends.

Hiede, thanks for the feedback. I do know that a lot of my scenery work up until the Huon Gulf package needs the airbases.dat entries revising.

I mistakenly believed that Mission Builder wanted the take-off locations, not the physical centre of the runway. It was only after Kevin pointed out some problems with the Buna-Dobodura entries that I took the time to re-read the short description Cody put in his tutorial, & realised he was referring to the centrepoint of the runway - doh!

Incidentally, his description of takeoff length is mistaken, the length quoted is in metres not feet (shades of mixed units like the DP file units here).

Anyway, seeing the general lack of responses here, I'll leave it on my to-do-list until I can be bothered revising them.

Or maybe somebody else could do it, & upload some fixes... :icon35:
 
My son is just fixing the bases as he uses them.He did Roi and he will be doing Taroa soon.

I guess you have no plans for the Marianas.

Never thought about Marianas, I'll take a look at MR's work & see if just the bases can be revised to give a pre-invasion look, which I guess is what you need.

I had noticed Okinawa & points northwards need some serious revision (one eye on possible BPF missions here).

So much of the PTO still needs doing ... :dizzy:

I think they were with the USN at the time.I think Devil Dog did a BPF campaign a while back.

Devil Dog's BPF remains unfinished.

I did a load of aircaft skins etc for it back in 2016.

Thanks to Stuart, we have a lot more ship options now, & thanks to Wolfi, Acwai & Kurt, some better airplane options too...

Maskrider did his Sakishima islands package specifically for it.

One day, I'll get back to looking at it, one day ...
 
Dusted off Maskriders Marianas package & took a look.

This may take a while.

It seems Chris didn't his usual watermask bgls & the VTP excludes are a bit haphazard, so there are a lot of phantom shorelines & islets, particularly in the northernmost reaches. Some examples:-

I think I can create some patches to sit in a scenery layer you place immediately below MR_Marianas, see this example...

Then I can see work to do on the waterclass, & once I've stripped out the US Bomber strips, I'll set about creating new JAP era strips. Lastly would be devising a pre-invasion gsl to go with the new strips. THere's a fair bit of work to do...

Like I said there is no rush.My son is still doing missions for January 1944.He's doing missions that haven't really been covered before. except maybe in Shadow Wolf Essex and Saratoga campaigns.
