SDK allow you to create them... and I am working on a set of military pilot figures (with different helmets / suits)...

Landed at Tempe Town Lake

Was going to be late for my meeting in Tempe if I landed at Sky Harbor... so did the next best thing... took the old PBY and landed in Tempe Town Lake.

Honestly, as a software developer....people are going to want more detail out of their scenery now that they can get out and run around.... I ran over the bridge into Tempe and then ran up Tempe Butte.... looked down at the PBY and Camelback Mtn in the distance.

Is this a flight simulator or a walk simulator?
Can he play the fiddle and dance squaredance. Does he have any friends he chat to and make family with.

I am a scenery developer... getting out and walking around.... a whole new way of being able to see how real things look. :)
 
...scenery developers should really give a look to the addition of SpeedTree...

But yes - a different perspective. It also applies to aicrafts (especially with Oculus) - you have a better perception of the scale of the aicraft. We may argue that its actual "simulation" utility is limited... but it is a nice and fun addition (although please remember you are NOT supposed to have fun with P3D).
 
Nice pics! Of course, Prepar3d isn't just a Flight simulator, so the Avatar is not really a bad addition IMHO.

Anyway, does anyone have pics of the dynamic environment map workings/realtime reflections?

The real-time render to envmap is the biggest feature I'm looking into as well..

But It was dropped from the feature list of 3.0. I'm hearing maybe 3.1, or 3.2 ?

Not finding anything about it in the sdk.

I thought it wasn't supposed to be a game or entertainment. Surely the Avatar function makes it look so. Hypocrisy abounds. :wiggle:
 
What is P3D besides being a flightsimulator?

PREPAR3D is not a flight simulator it is a dynamically changing environment brought about by new innovations of modern technology and the contributions of outstanding designers to provide a vehicle for immersive teaching and training. To think it is anything else means you take it lightly and just want to have fun. That is absolutely forbidden!
Anyways I'm waiting for my next SS check so I can get serious about v3.
 
When I read the last two posts in this thread, the one by Naismith and Paul Domingue, it makes it clear for me, how devided we, the users and consumers of P3D are. Its an interesting picture of the world we are living in.
 
What's next..... building houses ingame? Making friends with the neighbours? Oh wait ain't that the Sims..... ?
