Engine cfg specs posted at the start look pretty standard for a R2800. However the min gov RPM of 800 is probably too low, something on the order of 1500 RPM is more appropriate. The F8F was somewhat known for a torque roll, especially on a waveoff. Large prop, short wings...... Prop MOI might be a snitch high....
For fine tuning of the engine, mucking about in the .air file is necessary. I suggest a utility such as Aircraft Airfile Manager.
Keep in mind that max published speeds were usually achieved with Water Methanol injection, which was of limited duration. Get the WEP power and speed right, usually the mil power speed will fall into line, usually 15 knots or so slower.

. But, for the life of me, I can't find the Manual for the Bearcat :redf:. Found the P36 right away and searched the usual places for the F8F with no joy. Could someone vector me in?
