Vertigo Studios P-36 Spotted!

Thanks Michael, We're hoping to be entering pre-beta anytime now.

That's outstanding news, Dean... I've built a new hangar just for her...:applause:

Quicksand, you cant just say you built a new hangar and leave me hanging.. lets see some eye candy :D everyone loved photos.

Dean, I guess I should have been more specific:kilroy:.. I simply added more RAM to give her room to spread her wings at will:mixedsmi:. Still flying the wings off of your Hellcat as well, my friend. :medals::icon29::guinness::applause:

Ive just added another 4 new screenshots of the French variant of the hawk. More screenshots can be seen here : http://www.vertigostudios.co.uk/image/tid/20

Fantastic modeling!

Just as long as the paint kit comes out right behind it.

The P-36 saw action over Oahu on December 7th...against awesome odds...

A total of 39 Mohawks were at Wheeler Field ... here is the breakdown.

source: http://www.ww2pacific.com/aaf41.html

Total: 39
Destroyed: 4
Damaged: 19
Combat Ready: 16

The totals are really incredible... and the result of the night before when 1st Lt. Sanders (commander of the 46th Pursuit Sq.) had the planes dispersed.

Another 2 aircraft were at Haleiwa.....

Here is what they did on Dec 7th. (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor citation #55)

In the twenty-five sorties flown, USAF Historical Study No.85 credits six pilots with ten planes destroyed: 1st Lt Lewis M. Sanders (P-36) and 2nd Lts Philip M Rasmussen (P-36), Gordon H. Sterling Jr. (P-36, killed in action), Harry W. Brown (P-36), Kenneth M. Taylor (P-40, 2), and George S. Welch (P-40, 4). Three of the P-36 kills were not verified by the Japanese and may have been shot down by naval anti-aircraft fire.

So I hope you realize the importance of the paint kit if there will not be a USAAF 46th Pursuit Squadron livery.

The paintkit will be released the same time as the product, whether it be an additional download or shipped with the installer itself :D

Great! Thank you very much for the response. :wavey:

Guess I better get my Wheeler Field hangar moved over to FSX.

I dont know if I've already mentioned it but the hawk will come with 2 variants the French variant and US variant. Additionally there will be 6 liveries, 2 FR, 2 UK and 2 US.

I'm drooling already - I've always found the P36 neater and meaner-looking than the early P40s, which always looked a bit out of proportion to me. Apparently the '36 was nicer to fly too.

Can I ask a favour please???

Some of us have very slow connections and FSX add-ons seem to be doubling in size every 3 months! Can you please make the paint kit a seperate DL from the install file, I guess 90% of your customers will fly her, not re-paint her.
