Good thing you visited it when you could. I think I read a while back where their funding has been cut. I guess the Aliens will have to contact us on their own?

Well, just in case anyone asks:wiggle: It's one bgl in a huge pack at Flightsim.com (new fsx files) called...

He he,
I remember it from the film "Contact"

You're both right. Hollywood loves radio telescopes...even though the VLA is not used for SETI projects. Serious science only, although I recall that SETI did use one of the telescopes back when the array first came on-line to test one of their multi-channel detectors. Time on radio telescopes is very expensive, and it is usually booked up many months (or years) in advance. Cool looking scenery by the way, I'll have to pick that one up.

Very interesting project, visited with a local friend many years ago. But of course Cash for Clunkers was a much better investment...

Only the funding for SETI has been cut, other projects which use the array can still function.

Kind of humorous because the VLA has nothing to do with power plants. :icon_lol: looks good though.
