VFA-106 over KVQQ....

Navy Chief

I was with VFA-106 when the squadron "stood up" in 1984. At the time, they had no aircraft, and didn't for several months.

Nice shots Chief. I love the lines of the F18, beautiful aircraft.

When you say "stood up" does that mean when the squadron was formed?

Thanks Navy Chief. After asking I went and researched for myself through Wiki and the VFA-106 site itself.
1945 - Bomber-Fighter Squadron 17 (VBF-17)
1946 - Fighter Squadron 6B (VF-6B)
1948 - Fighter Squadron 62 (VF-62)
1955 - Attack Squadron 106 to be decomissioned in 1969. (VA-106)

1984 to present Strike Fighter Squdron 106 (VFA-106)

Thanks for responding and for getting me digging.
