Vickers Wellington MkX for CFS2

Hi Folks,

Finally finished the major update of Ted Cooks Wellington MkX for CFS2. Already an excellent looking version, but was made for FS9. So all the usual probs, (Buddha and others must remember the messing around with the non-moving tail!!)

Now revamped for CFS2 which includes multi-LODs, which gives 70+ fps with 20+ a on the screen, a new detailed crew and texs, the crash and glightstates glitches gone, the VC sorted out with centered controls etc, more alert guns, new textures AND a fully moving tail with balance weights which actually firms up the faster you go. Have fun!

Cheers

CFS2 Vickers wellingron MkX ai

Oh yes, also done a Vickers Wellington MkX AI, with bombing capability.

A very low poly Wellybag for those 1000 bomber raids, and could be used as AI for any mark of Wellington really.

Mark,

This is truly outstanding work, I appreciate all the effort you have put in on this.

Wow wow wow that's been a long time coming.

Wikipedia describes one of the many roles it played which just blows my mind:

"In late 1944, a radar-equipped Wellington was modified for use by the RAF's Fighter Interception Unit as what would now be described as an Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft.[SUP][6][/SUP] It operated at an altitude of some 4,000 ft (1,219 m) over the North Sea to control de Havilland Mosquito fighters intercepting Heinkel He 111 bombers flying from Dutch airbases and carrying out airborne launches of the V-1 flying bomb."

Very nice addition!

Redid the panel to round up the redo...
If you want to use it, just let me know...

Glad you're liking it. TBH the biggest updates were for good ol' CFS2, finally giving us the most numerous Wellybag used, in a fully CFS2 friendly format, to 'play' with..;)

As I've said this would not be possible without the skill and generosity of Ted Cook.

Gaucho,
Many thanks for the offer. Looking good (though shouldn't the control column be to the left?). The update packages are all set, but why not upload it as an alternative 2D panel? I'll definitely take one, thanks.

Cheers Mav,
Good to see you're still 'fiddling' about, like the new Spit pilot, must be scasm second-nature for you to put a pilot in now..;)

Skip this one... not very accurate at all... just a rework of what you had in the download...
So I went on the net and got a real photo of it... so I immediately started work on a much better panel... from an actual photograph...
it should be finished in a very short time....
see you soon with it...

You were right....

The original panel just was not too docile to domesticate.... with the yoke more to the left... it hid the instruments...
So I researched a pic in the Internet... and this one is much more like it... The master is large enough to be cropped to
almost any size... and photorealistic of sorts to boot...
