If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Virginia Jury makes the right call ...

The idea is simple, but the execution and engineering makes this man an incredible genius to me. That is so cool.

Let me provide an example of how idiotic the state of tort law has reached in the United States!

I purchased a battery operated tow bar for my C-310R.

It is an excellent tow bar. But, it has an interesting product warning label on the rod. The label reads, "Remove Before Flight!"

No joke! A warning that I must remove my tow bar before I start the engines, taxi, and take off!

Now, I am sure the manufacturer of this tow bar looked his lawyer in the eye and exclaimed, "You're kidding me, right!"

Judges could end this nonsense immediately by simply throwing out frivolous tort lawsuits and forcing the attorney bringing the claim to court to pay all costs for the defendants, plus court costs. But, judges don't do that except in rare cases because most judges are lawyers themselves. They are part of the industry and vice tamping down the court docket, they seek to expand it.

Strange as it might sound, perhaps the best solution short term at least is to make it illegal for a sitting judge to have worked as a lawyer! Lawyers should be lawyers and judges should be judges and never the two should meet!

Nothing wrong with walking around naked in you own home, just stay away from open doors and windows.

Many have not seen that the "judicial" and law "enforcement" arms of our society are a self-perpetuating entity that believes, falsely, that it must create criminals to subsist. Here is Ohio, The Knucklehead State, walk many honest and law-abiding citizens, hunters and gun-hobbyists, who forgot to unload their weapons on the way home from the field or the range, got pulled over for this or that, and are now felons for life, robbed of job opportunities and civil rights because of Ohio's knucklehead gun transportation laws. What Ohio, and the knuckleheads in Virginia who brought charges on this man forgot, is a basic premise and foundation of English and Roman law and something written into our laws from day one: Criminal intent. Unless this man in Virginia could have been proven to have committed the act with the criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt then the arresting officers are liable for false arrest and I';d sue them into oblivion if it was me.

God help you should you ever remove the warning label from a mattress either!
