• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Virtavia C-17 Released

You could do worse for 10 bucks or so...yet another advantage of FS9: how cheap the addons can be!
Erm, present topic excluded, of course.

There's been an update to the Virtavia C-17. This update includes:
  • Improved pilot’s HUD graphics
  • AP knobs for SPD, HDG and ALT are now also mousable using left and right click in addition to the mousewheel
  • Fuel burn rate has also been adjusted following feedback from realworld C-17 pilots
New purchasers should just download the main C-17 download .exe wrapper file as normal. Existing owners can use the small update Zip file available on the Virtavia site at the link below. Extract the contents of the Zip to the root folder of the sim (the way we used to always do it at Alphasim), which for FSX will be ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator X’, and for FS9 ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator 9′. Overwrite the existing files when prompted.

If you made any adjustments to the original aircraft.cfg file (adding older textures, adjusting contact points, etc.) you should save your current copy to the side and put those changes into the new one.

A tiny Gripe

I don't know if this is fixable by a small tweak, or requires a lot of work:
When adjusting settings, the scroll wheel operates in reverse!
Every other FS model I have, increases values when you "push" the wheel away, this is the opposite.
I just cannot get used to this...
