Virtavia Convair B-36H Peacemaker

Been reading the Haynes manual about the Peacemaker recently. If the VC is better than their previous versions I might have to pick this up.
 
Been waiting for the B-36.. Something about a huge airplane is very appealing. However, perhaps it's just pre-release pictures, but the textures look more like FSX rather than the MSFS quality. Maybe just my tired eyes, but hope it does the big beast justice. Can't wait to feel those engines rumble. Memories of Jimmy Steward and "The Strategic Air Command" movie come to mind.

The FSX model always looked more like FS9. Fairly low detail. There were some weathered repaints for it on flightsim.comor Avsim maybe, that looked better than the default skins. The cockpit was very poor. Might be interesting with a revised cockpit, engine sounds, and good smoke effects.
 
If the VC is up to the same standard as their H.P. Hampden, then we're in for a treat. Obviously it's much bigger and complex, but Virtavia managed a respectable flight deck with the B-29, so here's hoping.
 
1950 > 1952 we lived in El Paso, just off base at Biggs AFB where my dad was stationed.
I can remember the sound of the B-36 as it flew over. It was a strange deep whine like maybe the props weren't synchronized.
 
It does say "all-new cockpit model" on the description.

FS2020 doesn't allow mixing jet and prop engines on the same plane, does it? I think FS24 will fix that, but unless he releases for 24 instead due to the December release...

Have you read something to indicate that? Given how few aircraft were actually built with different type engines and I don't know of any modern aircraft that do, I don't think they would make this a priority?
 
Not 100% sure about mixing engine types, but FS2024 will support >4 throttles, which is key to the B-36, and perusing the SDK, it looks like you might be able to add engines of different types to a plane; it's not spelled out clearly so someone would need to test it.

Mixed bag engines - Navy P2V-7 Neptune, AJ series Savage: both successful. Ryan FR-1 Fireball, not so.
