How do I report a possible virus piggy backed in to my E-Mail when I clicked on a link to this Forum to read a reply to my thread? Don't think it got through but having my system checked right now. Very strange could have been bad something about my flash player not being up to date please download now (right) and a porn site popped up as well. Anyone else get something like this? It was a link from here.

I have been getting the same thing for a Java update but I refuse it everytime. I think I need to uninstall Java completely and reinstall from Java site.

I installed it and immediately lost Accu-Feel...however - AICarriers was unaffected which is unusual in that with such updates I typically lose everything in the FSX addon tab...

I recommend use an good PAYWARE internet security (antivirus + antispyware + firewall) and constantly update your windows.
(Don't use microsoft security tools)

I got a virus alert (Trojan horse) from Kaspersky when I attempted to download the ORBX EGHR.110 update.
Probably a false alert, and I have never experienced this with ORBX products before...
Kaspersky laboratories work fast, I had many times false/positive virus, trojan horse and other alleged malware blocked by Kaspersky, them after some days have been unlocked and reporting that are inoffensive and true files

1) there is a VERY BAD Java 0 day vulnerability that is currently being addressed by the update. Ignore at your own peril (I cannot argue with a complete uninstall and re-install rather than a patch though).
2) Most Virus hits are false alarms, although it can be difficult at times to determine which are real and which are not. However, if you have an unusual file syntax in the naming convention and any unusual characters (periods especially), then you may get a false hit. When you get a hit, google the file report and see what you find.
3) I hear a lot of enthusiasm for freeware virus protection. I'm sorry....I buy mine. Retailers have skin in the game. Freeware vendors do not. Hanimichal's advise is dead on. (I've not used Kaspersky but hear good things).

I have used Kaspersky for the last six years with no problems at all.
The version I have at the moment is Kaspersky Pure for three computers, bought of Ebay for £20 inc postage two weeks ago, it arrived in two days.
It also included a free online upgrade to Pure V 2.0.

1) Java is the worst platform and language ever envisioned by men.
2) Viruses are much like the sandman, only they're meant to scare old people.
3) Anti-viruses and the like are the cure for an imaginary threat (and an evil way to get your money): I have been doing perfectly fine without any kind of security software for a long, long time. Only thing is you have to know what you're doing. Yes I'm on windows. No I don't restrict myself to "known web".

When you visit any blog or website, you will leave your IP address there.
So, any good informative or FSX awesome blog can be made by malicious hacker to catch your address, and then ... There are hundreds of programs robots to invade your PC and send by E-mail your personal data to the owner(hacker)

Well, most home IP addresses are non-static, yours probably included. My network cannot be invaded easily because of firewalls, you probably have them too, in your modem/router and OS. ALL websites in which I have an account actually worth something are encryption protected. No program can be installed or run in my computers without my consent. I do pay attention to what I download and install or to what web applets I allow execution. So I (we) am (are) pretty safe without expensive, resource intensive security software, as long as I (we) know what I'm (we're) doing.
