BTW: We had green (but frozen) grass showing here in Toronto till we got a touch of snow (1") last Wednesday. The snowfall in the NE U.S is unbelievable ...
My driveway after Tuesday's 3 hour tractor clearing session.
Mostly drifts that piled up - the "Snow Stack" on the right is about 8' high, as far up as the John Deere's bucket would lift and dump.
Gotta Love Winter in the MidWest !
I can only imagine the first few hours of that snowfall in areas like Martin, Beaufort and Hyde Counties. Here on Long Island it didn't last long enough to cause that many problems. Roads were cleared quickly...I feel for those in the Atlanta area as I heard they only have 5 sand/salt spreaders and 1 plow? Geez here in NY they allow private citizens with plows to work for the county with the larger 1 ton or greater trucks to be paid about $80 an hour to keep assigned areas clear. I have friends who drive 20 or more hours at that rate! Nice part time work huh? Ridiculous...you wouldn't believe what some guys have hung plows on and it's legit apparently.
