VMF-321 Hells Angels Corsair

Beautiful! I know a lot of guys who flew for this squadron when it was based at NAF Washington!

Jankees, is this for the stock A2A Corsair or the expansion pack version? I think you needed to do a bit of file legerdemain to get it to cross over depending on which version you had.

Thanks for your great work!

Deacon

Love it......321 used to visit Willow Grove a lot when they had the hornets. Look forward to this paint too. :applause:

Looks great!

That kind of weathering would look superb on a Korean War Corsair (yes, I know it's not the correct model ....)

Heya Deacon,
I was there from 1997 to August 2000. You were down with the C130s, next to VAQ-209?

Jamal

Cool! I was actually with the Citation and Kingair guys down by base ops. I didn't get there until 2002 though. '97-'00 I was still in Kingsville as an instructor.

When they decommed 321, a lot of the Hornet guys came down to VMR to finish up their 20 rather than commute to Dallas to fly with the Cowboys.

Actually, we moved into 321's spaces so the Hornet guys stayed where they were and we actually moved up! ;)

Very cool! We probably knew alot of the same people!

Shame about Double Nuts on it's last flight to Quantico. Glad Col. Reavis made it out ok.

Agreed. Not the best way to close such a storied squadron, but at least he walked away.

The guys I'm thinking of that came over were Pablo, Gumby, Bug, and Diablo...probably a few others that'll come to me in the middle of the night! ;)

Deacon

P.S. Sorry to hijack your thread Jankees! It's like "Old Marines' Day" at the home...
