As for the wings, tried taking the leading edges a little further out on the texture? it looks like its fading out to background colour perhaps?


Steampunk Walrus update, Copper hull is laid, time to add some timber planking! (PS: first aero engine cowl that looks good in wood with barrel rings on :D)

Note that the catapult attachment points are included on the model.

thanks, yeah i'm running the softest of brushes along them... currenty just finished a bit of a facelift on the tyres, onto canopy frame and that should hopefully be it then... (Famous last words)

copper hull sounds good, maybe some wood planking too aft of the cockpit, like what used to be on Morris Minor Travellers? (no laughing here but the car i learn to drive (aged 13 on a friends field) in was a 'Moggie Minor' Traveller) :icon_lol:
 
Oh more than a little planking... few gun ports, full planked sides and piratey sail inspired wing canvas :D
 
not sure pal...

... though i'd love to see some 'Steampunk' inspired craft for FSX... as you can see they're industrial looking things, pretty much everything is just Bolted on :icon_lol:
 
Man, as much as its a good song, that song gets over used big time!

Quite difficult doing a wood panelled aircraft but fun challenge :D

although no 'normal" for flight sim, i think a fleet of steam punk flying devices would be a lot of fun..

Pleeeze, 'o pleeze! That looks so amazing. Mmmmm.. a fleet of steampunked aeries, blimps vehicles? A whole new gendre'? This is gonna be ideal for my 'Golden Wings' install. Thanks so much
 
i thought it'd convince the incompetent boaters to get moving again and not waste valuable time of the emergency services... "Are you sure that sail is broke or can you not figure how to sort it out?" and watch them get their act back together rapidly :icon_lol:
