I've just had a fascinating time riding out the attack on Pearl Harbor, in a ship. Using Talon's mission "PHP_000_Watch attack", from his php2_Pearl_Harbor_missions; but instead of sitting it out in the relative safety of a P-39 on the deck of an invisible, and invincible Aircraft Carrier, I substituted the "VN_srobertsA" Destroyer Escort as Player AC. Now the enemy AC shoot at you, and if you are so unfortunate as to get in the way, and a torpedo hits you,.....start over. Next, I'm going to try dodging bombs at Hickam with the Pilotable "U.S. Army Jeep". It should be a blast.
 
Being able to do tweaks like this is part of what's kept CFS2 so much fun for over 10 years now. :)

Question 1) Does the location of your sailor on the mast platform indicate a "point of view" from which you can view the attack?

Question 2) Where did you get him? I want one.

I substituted the carrier with Usio's JMK_Pensacola, which like all his ships, is set up as a carrier. If you look in the ship.cfg file you'll see many stations around the ship which can be used as take-off points. I simply removed the semi-colon from the take-off point on the mast and substituted Crew-GunAA50-01 for the P-39. These crew members were made by Ti Loup and I think they are in the archive section.

I substituted Airacobra with the VN PT boat and deleted the carrier. So I'm able to sail around the harbour during tbe attack. Very interesting. But certainly not funny at all if you had really been there...

Well, you can learn something new everyday, can't you. I never have opened a ship cfg. Thanks for the tip. I have Ti-Loop's crew, I just didn't remember it.

Try adding this below the information included in your ship config:

pitch_wave_moment_scale = 2
bank_wave_moment_scale = 2
pitch_damp_moment_scale = 1
bank_damp_moment_scale = 1

This allows you to adjust the amount of pitch and roll a ship exhibits while under way.
