Wanted: Vulcan B.1\B.1A

Good one Spit, finally someone else taking notice of Paul's excellent Vulcan series! I posted some screens of them on the previous page. Not to knock Kaz Ito's model at all, it is very nice, but Paul's are well worth the look in for anyone looking for a nice freeware Vulcan. The only thing that does need work is the FDE which would a nice project for one of us on here to take on.

I have got Pauls B.2 series and agree its a great freeware package one of the best renditions of the B.2 I've seen done freeware. since then I've bought the PSS/JF Vulcan pack and that's equally great But I've been after a b.1 for some time now and its something that has been overlooked in all the Vulcan packs available either freeware or payware, and to a point, I can kind of see why since the differences were not limited to appearance. the control surfaces, intake shape and undercarriage were all changed for the B.2. Not to mention the differences in handling and flight characteristics so it does require a scratch built model.

Agreed, the B.1 is overlooked in the FS world, as are in many ways, other Mark 1 types. On the flipside, the one-off Valiant B.2 is overlooked as well, something I'd like to see done for FS one day. V bombers are just plain brilliant, you can never have enough variants! Perhaps one of the reasons I like Paul Foster's work so much - he is a man after my own heart with his efforts to produce variants and iterations.

Alphasim did it, back in the days of FS2002. It will work in FS2004, but there are some fairly serious issues (like wheels, but no gear), so it looks ok flying but ..... different..... on the ground.

Yep, I remember that one, all due respect to Alpha, but the gear problems in FS2004 makes me discount it from being a true contender. The B.2 looked damn good in real life - the Black Bomber as she was known. Have to say I love anything in gloss black.

That old model though does not look that bad, a nice new coat of paint would do her some good though.

I think the gear's ok as far as I can see, ie it's there and it works (as do the doors and bomb bay)

Kind regards

John
