Warbirds Over Wanaka

Thanks, guys!
Glad to see you having a ball! :jump:

Everybody fed up with Corsairs?

What about this one?

5648_30.jpg

It's the Aeroplane Heaven model (this time, it's a true FG-1D!), showing ZK-COR in its Wanaka 2004 livery.
This repaint features main textures made by John Terrell (he did the awesome USN skins of ZK-COR) and he kindly allowed me to use and re-release them. So my share on this one is limited in pasting some insignia and tailcodes.

One bummer:

The rudder's port side seems to have some distorsions, so the '648' appears a little twisted and wacky. I think I'll better omit the number on this side...

Up soon!

Cheers,
Markus.

Great stuff!
It's the month of the Corsair alright.
For the WOW exercise I'll stick to the Alpha Bleu model, and save the AH one for solo display ;)
Here's a fragment more from the WIP, then:

Breitlings5Large.jpg

The P-51 is the Jankees Blom repaint of ZK-TAF on the WOP model
Kittyhawk is from Iris, Spit MkIX is Alphasim
And of course Wild Bill's ZK- COR on the AB model.
The MD500 is a quick home grown repaint to act as camera ship.
Hope you enjoy...

Very nice vid...bit of crosswind for the Spit?

That Hughes must of put some hours in by now!

Thank you...

Pete that link is dead btw.
That Hughes is not a Hughes but an MD500E, and Naki alludes to its use for many NZ AI projects.
It goes back 4, maybe 5 years (eons in other words!) rebadged as required as a chase plane. :salute:
There was an accompanying Mitsubishi Pajero too, in similar colours.

Paul there is a little story behind the startling Spit takeoff.
I'd been looking for a suitable model, Rebuffet was the probable best.
But the Recorder module track was flown in the Realair model.
Being Griffon-powered, when I gave it the boot, it went right instead of left as the Merlin does.
I left it in, hoping someone would assume it was a wind gust ;)

The video, incidentally, is my first using the sound track as the baseline, rather than the video.
So the Carmina Burana was laid down and the cuts made to suit.
I think it makes it much crisper.
I also invested in a soundpack for the MD500E from TSS which I think sounds great.
Part 2 will have more engine noises...:d

Look What Dropped in to Wanaka!

...
a brilliant paint
a brilliant movie
a brilliant display
I hope Milton gets to see this displayed at Wanaka!

Quite right!
So I'll bring it here...
