Warbirdsim P-51D-5-NA Little Friends II OUT NOW! (Pay-ware)

Just applying the finishing touches to this repaint. Should be available this coming weekend all being well. :icon_lol:

John, whilst testing this repaint I appear to have activated a 'secret' version of the Mustang (see screenshot) that is weird to say the least. The NA engineers must have been enjoying a few beers when this one got off the drawing board! :icon_lol:

Taff

The previously unheard of Goodyear Mustang?

It is looking great Taff, but I would urge you to look at the squadron codes a little closer. Check the shape of the font, especially the thickness of the A's and the shape of the 9. Also notice they have an outline where they enter the o.d. green area of the overpainted invasion stripes.

Hi Barry,

Don't worry. I'm on to it ;)

I have been searching for Bomber_12's "Little Friends Redux" here at SOH (without success). Can anyone please point me in the correct direction. Aircraft? repaints?

Thanks,

Bill

Looks good!

Here's a friend for your paint:

Well it has finally arrived. My bible of Australian and New Zealand Mustangs arrived on Tuesday and it contains some great colour photos of several civilian aircraft I wish to paint over the coming months as time permits. And also not forgetting the military versions as well. The book is called "Mustangs of the RAAF and RNZAF". Also got a bonus of some newspaper clippings from the mid 80s period regarding the Maralinga Mustangs (A68-1) in particular and other Mustang stories.

Oh and by the way, is there a cure of this painting bug once you have caught it? :jump:

Like to enjoy a couple of these :icon29: while working.

Sounds like I have caught an incurable bug :icon_lol:. Oh well time for a dose of medicne then, prescription says take 2 :icon29::icon29: when required :jump:.

Will be working from my laptop for a couple of weeks as my son will be visiting and he needs his regular computer fix as well :mixedsmi:.

Well the 'silly season' is over and my son had to return home today as he had an offer of some work so now it will be head down and bum up with repaints. I have several Aussie civilian and military versions in mind. Actually spent the afternoon scanning some photos so I can get a colour chart made up.

Not only will the people who like the Aussie 'stangs be happy but I have in mind 3 or 4 from over the ditch in the land of the nervous sheep.

No timetable though as I have other things and repaints to work on as well as beta testing a certain twin engine bomber.

John, this is the type of camera port I was referring to on the Photo-Recon Mustang.

Any ideas as to how to put it on an Aussie Mustang?

Anyone have an answer to the above question regarding the RAAF camera port on the Mustang?

I would like to do a couple of paints but at the moment I am stymied.

Struggling with this one

The 356nd FG diamonds on the nose are a total :censored: bitch!! Otherwise complete.
