Still here!
I purchased the Warbirdsim P51D today.

What a great aircraft! The modelling and painting is really excellent. Everything about it looks first class. Also, I like the fact that the VC is very detailed and realistic, but you still have the option of either doing things by the book or just jumping in for a quick flight - the best of both worlds. This P51D has now joined the Realair Spitfire as the warbird that I will be flying most often.

Indeed the Warbirdsim is definitely a great model Paul. I always fly it 'by the book' which is actually not as hard as it sounds. Have you discovered the 'hidden' things already like droptanks and old style helmet & goggles?

Yes, thanks Huub. After posting I started to fly the different models again and was amazed by the subtle differences. Fantastic modelling and attention to detail. I then came back here and looked for the 'release' thread (which I found). I have just been copying and pasting some of the tips (eg how to add fuel to the drop tanks) into notepad - ready for a long distance flight!

I too like to fly 'by the book' - it makes the sim more interesting and immersive. But sometimes - if I have just a spare half hour - I like to just jump in and go for a spin! It's great to have both options.
