I bought the P-51B/C for FSX when it came out, and jumped though the hoops to get it installed. Since that time I had to re-install FSX, and didn't even attempt to re-install this plane. But yesterday decided the hassle was worth it since it's such a beautifully done FS plane. But it's wouldn't activate. Still had the "Wonder Woman" invisible Mustang. Wrote to Warbirdsim support to beg and plead my case, and was very pleasently surprised when they responded by telling me to re-download the plane and install the new one, which doesn't come with hoops to jump through to install it. How cool is that! I'm pretty sure I'm the last one to learn all this, but thought I'd share my "good tech support experience" story. Now I have the "cool looking Mustang" back in the hangar...

Doesn't surprise me at all Paul. Please consider purchasing the D model and especially the VLR version. (Very Long Range)

Hopefully in the near future you will have a place to fly it meaning IwoJima scenery is on the horizon. We are putting the finishing touches on now. Enjoy your Mustangs.

I think they got rid of the cumbersome activation system with SP1 (it's not present in the other packages I have). Might try installing the SP, though I'm not totally sure it will work.

Edit: I've dug around a little and I couldn't find a download link for the SP (been too long since I downloaded it to remember where/how I got it). You might try re-downloading the installer from the link provided in the purchase confirmation email.

That's what I did and it worked great. I saved the download link (thank God), browsed to it, remembered my login credentials (thank God) and the new installer worked, no hoops to jump through. I like the "pre-D" Mustangs. pretty aeroplanes, and this one is well done.

Tom, I might get around to the D model. So far I have the old "WoP" P-51D installed, which is still quite a nice model...

Yes it is a good model. I have repainted the WOP P-51D to fit the fighter squadrons on Iwo and use them for AI. Seeing them coming and going plus flying next to them is great fun. Here I am flying with my wing man from the 46th FS. There is a P-61 coming up behind us.

That is Ito San, really works well as an AI. Very little impact on FPS. Just got our C-47 static from Guy Diotte and with Mark working on the new objects we should have IwoJima finish before long.

Zsolt, this is the upcoming IwoJima scenery. Roger Wilco66 and I have a partnership in producing IwoJima. All that need to be done is to update the objects used. Mark is editing and finishing his Solomon Islands scenery objects which are the same objects we use in IwoJima. It shouldn't be to long now.
