Hey All,

Were they?

Strangely while this song is pure sugar I like it!

Honestly, I'd never heard of them. Thanks for the video link. Wikiipedia has an extensive write up on them, but they are now very much "old news." Oddly enough, according to this article they never performed in the U.S. or Canada, which may explain my ignorance of them... ;)

That was a very nice song!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kelly_Family
The Kelly Family is an American-German music group consisting of a multi-generational family, who plays a repertoire of rock, pop and folk music. They have had chart and concert success in Europe and other parts of the world, especially in Germany, the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Spain and Portugal. They have sold over 20 million albums since the early 1980s.

I actually remember seeing them as part of a 2 day music festival back in the mid 90's......which is very surprising....considering I cannot remember what I did yesterday :kilroy::icon_lol:

I grew up in the UK and I had never heard of them! :isadizzy:

Yes, think we got a lucky break there!!! :icon_lol:

The Europeans, and the Germans especially, have an approach to 'pop music' that is an acquired taste; don't forget that the biggest pop star in Germany is The Hoff!! :kilroy:

Well, this was a true family-band, all family-members formed the band which was run by the father. They were very polular in the 90s, but sort of split up when the father died. They actually lived on a houseboat in Collogne on the river rhine.

They had their roots in irish (being an irish family) folk music, but successfully mixed it with pop. Were very popular with young kids mainly.
