weapons don't show

hi guys over at cfs3 we were just given as freeware the old aeroplane heaven,f5f skyrocket.it's a cfs2 conversion.when wing and fuselage weapons are selected for loadout,the pylons and weapons don't appear on the plane.when you select for disperasl,as they are released,the weapon appears and works but still no pylon.we believe the m3ds are not getting called up.have any of you converted one to know how to correct this? we have a thread over on cfs3 fourm. if you could post there it would be much appreceated. thank you SLIP STREAM

I think that if you did not get any answer it may be because your question seems related to CFS3 and not CFS2. Personnally I cannot give any help about CFS3 that I did not run for years.
 
Vidal is right....the two sims are indeed similar but are engineered differently at the weapons level. What fixes a weaps "no-show" in CFS2 doesn't work for the CFS3 m3d-xdp relationship.
 
Hi SS,
I'm no CFS3 expert here but with CFS2 models that do not show weapons etc it is usually when a CFS1 aircraft is converted to use in CFS2. It is an mdl issue.
You have to run the converted mdl through a small exe file to mod the mdl to show CFS2 weapons.
If this was a CFS2 model originally then it may not be that. It may be a texture mapping (ie missing texture, although I would have thought it would still show as a base material colour?) or texture alpha issue?

Speak with modellers in CFS3 Ted 'Nachtpiloten' make-and-breaks them, he may have come across this issue or be able to point you in a CFS3 specific direction.

thanks guys. just hopeing some one had a direction to look in, we know it's not calling up the m3d files for both. shessi we're not bothering ted at the moment he's finishing up a catilina that we don't have in 3,that we have been waiting for for ever.
