What a dream I had...

WarHorse47

SOH-CM-2024
I was on vacation and visited the Palm Springs Air Museum. There was nobody there, so I had all the aircraft to myself to touch and photograph.

And the next thing I knew, it happened again. This time at the CAF Museum in Mesa, AZ.

As I walked around the museum, there she was... and a voice said... "go ahead. climb in. check her out."

And then I woke from my dream... with a bunch of credit card receipts to pay.

Hope you enjoyed my vacation. :ernae:

So, did you get to see 2 B-17's then? I presume S.J. was visiting... Lucky you if so... looks like a great place. Maybe one day I will get to California...

Well, yes..

There was one at Palm Springs, but it would have cost a few bucks for a tour.

SJ was at Mesa for repairs. One engine needed some work, and it also needed some sheet metal replaced as a result of a storm they flew through.

As we walked around SJ taking pictures, a crewman invited me to go in and walk around which I did willingly for a half hour. The attention to restoration detail was amazing compared to other a/c I've explored. Just had to buy the T-shirt. :jump:

My "dream" was a reality. At both museums we visited there were only a few other visitors, so we were able to take our time.
