What an idea? (CS C-130)

Hehe, imagine telling that to an aircraft-nerd forum.... :mixed-smiley-027: (and, btw, why did you buy it then ??...:) )

'Just eye candy' ??... My good man our precious hobby here is nothing *but* eye-candy, isn't it. Isn't that exactly why you and everybody else here bought MSFS in the first place ? How would you like it then ? A black or white screen with nothing else but numbers indicating the gauge readings ? A VC is just as much 'eye-candy' as the external model, don't you think ? I, for one, have bought all FS editions from SubLogic FSII on, just *because* of the eye candy even if it wasn't that much candy at all in the beginning. What's wrong with eye-candy, Joe ? The whole fricking game world evolves around it !

Btw, CaptainSim seems to have lost its HSI ever since MSFS came about. I think we can safely assume there's never going to be an MSFS VC for any of their former graphically superb FS9/FSX products. We might even begin to assume that, actually, CaptainSim as we knew it in the glorious FS9/FSX days doesn't exist anymore. The sad releases of their exterior only 777 and now their C-130 prove that there's something seriously wrong. A software company that releases 2 *exterior only* aircraft models for MSFS (no less !!) has totally lost its sense and their normal clientele with it.

If you want to virtually fly the C-130 in MSFS with atleast *some* cockpit to sit in i suppose you'd best do what we did in FS9/FSX, assign a VC of your choice from your MSFS aircraft hangar although i have no clue at all which one that would be. As a matter of fact i have zero clue if it is possible at all.....( i guess it must be.., CS assigned the default 777 VC to their external model)

Actually it's a very sad thing that a once highly respected FS aircraft developer (well, ahem.. i am speaking for myself..;-) has to stoop as low as this to still try and make a buck. I hope the X-Boxers are kind to them..

:applause: Subscribe this by all means!!!

They probably will be to a small extent. When I drove Gran Tourismo (and GT II) on my PlayStation 1, I always drove from the chase camera view. If I got back into racing, I'd probably still do the same thing, since it's easy to see who's sneaking up on you. I suspect that a decent percentage of the MSFS console users either start running on the runway or just Ctrl+E every start, then spend the vast majority of their time in spot view. These are the people that will buy an exterior-only addon, but I still wonder if they'll be willing to pay what CS is asking.

Yes, indeed. On the other end of the stick, what would've actually happend to CS to end up in such deplorable state ? Surely it must not be that hard to recrute a new team that specializes in aircraft development for MSFS ? If IFE, DCDesigns, Milviz, AH, ETC., can do it why not CS. It's not rocket design, is it.... It could very well be they had a profitable business running. Why let it slip away like this ? Would be interesting to know, wouldn't it..

Quite probably it's their customer service reputation. You can build the greatest addons in the world, but if you're charging money, you need to have a responsive attitude to your customers. As I understand it, this was pretty much never the case with CS. Get a bad rep, and nobody wants to be associated with your brand.
