I asked about this weeks ago http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=6988 but still no answer, I know its a trivial thing and people are busy but I like the medal thingie, I'd also like to know how medals get changed, is it cumulative, ie three lots of say $20 and you go up a grade or is it valued on each donation, ie $20 only gets you a set medal and three lots of $20 still only gets you a $20 medal, where as a single donation of $60 gets a better medal.

I like the medals, I want to donate and support but I'd like it to be explained somewhere, please ?. I'm already a CM09 with an underscore and I'll probably shortly donate again to help with the band width drive. I hope the medals come back, I got kinda attached to the last ones I aquired before.

medals were called hacks for vbullitin, and we just changed versions on this software from 3.7.** to 3.8.1 and they were not compliant yet. maybe when they are updated for this newest version they will be reinstalled.
 
How can it be then that staff members etc. STILL have their medals? A hack is a hack, isn't it? Why do some medals/hacks work, when others don't? :confused:

If those still work and the CM's version does not, it must be related to the possibility they use a different type/version of hack (what the hack.....:d). Then agian, i'm not a web-page or server expert.
IMHO the medals are nice but i give more value to the other goodies a CM gets (like more PM space etc).
On the other hand, a good visualisation/recognizability of those who donated gives the members "a little extra status" and might persuade other members to donate as well.

For me personally, the medal is not that important, but the survival of SOH is :amen:

And I feel the medal is a way to symbolise those who feel the same. Its no different to something like clan markings or kilt weave in the days of old.

My basic reasoning of medals is that they are assigned to each charter member group, those still with medals haven't donated this year yet thus have not moved into the 'new' CM09 category which has no medal due to the new server software ?.
