What has happened to CFS3 ?

Who will be making the vids, the only time I have, which is limited, (I do have a real life and family) is spent on the mods?:biggrin-new:

Only two 167s saw action with France? I thought it was more. Anyways, nice to see yet another early twin in the works!

No, much more in the French Air Force.

The French Flights were composed of very few crews & groundcrews who evaded as early as june and july 1940 and then were engaged in the RAF. They are heros, it was before the Free French forces were created by De Gaulle.
Among these very few forces, the French Bomber Flight (FBF) was composed of 2 M167-F's.

This is my favorite site above all others.Enjoy all the work being done. To get some of the installs working it takes some editing of files but not to hard if a dummy like me can do it. Maybe a no go to some people who don't want to take the time to read the instructions. With Il-2 '46 VP modpack and BAT it's as easy as 1,2,3 for example. Making things easier is the key to interest in CFS3. Not everyone likes modding files. Maybe something can be done to ETO and PTO-RS in the future to make it easier for others and might bring in others that aren't hard core yet. Just a thought.......

Talking about Martin 167-F, there is an article in the last edition of AeroJournal magazine dedicated to French Flights with some very interesting details about the action of the two Martin's engaged.

If you've got it, do you want to scan it and stick it in the mail? Address unchanged... (Cheap bastard, aren't I!)

Nice job Nigel! :applause:

Got a soft spot for the suitcase, if your reworking Uncle Ted's model, click on my sig, I reworked it for CFS2, adding Torp variant, etc. Added details, anims, etc. Feel free to use ant bits if they are of any use.

Thanks Jamie, have grabbed your cfs2 stuff :encouragement:. The CFS3 model is Teds, it's about finished now after some lovely painting by John and is in Rob Stevensons hangar for some file work.

Brilliant, Clive! I've wanted one of these for ages. Don't forget the Russians used them as well... I'd be very surprised if John hadn't already picked up on that!

good, that screenie looks a bit more polished than the 1st one.

A super WOW ! to Clive and everyone else below posting up there. Brilliant accurate work:).....it's quite a good thing every one Beavering away and not gas-bagging on the forum....so it's not a sign of inactivity that may worry some quarters.

I'm never giving up on CFS3, no matter it's or my age...it's real brain food! And the only affordable way to fly these things and still fire guns (mmm..forget competitor sims for now). Been harvesting files, nearly got all the installs going and very interested in all the latest mods, which I haven't even caught up on yet.........so there's heaps to do....and I guess one could still write additional missions from every combat record, in theory.

So CFS3 dead .......not at all!!! And many thanks again to alll.....

Just got to say, Clive, the latest view of the flying suitcase warms the cockles of me 'eart. Wow the work on new shaders, and bump mapping, promises to transform what could have been a mundane conversion from CFS2, into an exciting visually dynamic model :applause: :applause:

The work of the skinners is now able to be shown off with maximum effect :redfire:

What has happened to all the members that used to be here at SOH ? See only a handful of members in CFS3 General Discussions . Not a good sign. On the other hand i see many in the FSX discussion threads.Hate to see this happening with my favorite sim. What can we do to make things better ? I try spreading the good news of CFS3 everywhere i visit.Don't know if this helps but we got to do something to improve things. A topic most shy away from but it needs to be said.

Hey Len it's nice to have you back. I hope when i'm your age i'll still have my wits about me and still playing CFS3 or something like it. Been around a while as i joined back in 2005 (use to be called just sixstrings and always typed in bold letters) . Hope there is continued interest in CFS3 as it is one of my favorite simulator. Things look brighter now after hearing back from a few of you and seeing some work being done gives me hope of a bright future.Regards ,Scott
