Ropkey Armor Museum

I grew up on the northside of Indianapolis, and know Rick Ropkey quite well. Matter of fact, I bought my first Willys jeep from him. It was a 1952 M38. Beautiful vehicle. Unfortunately, I had to sell it to pay a divorce lawyer, years ago.

Rick and his dad had a printing company, downtown Indy. But I believe they sold it some time back.

Rick also had, at one time, a P-2V7 Neptune, and a T-33, and a NASA space capsule. Their museum includes the tank featured in the movie, "Tank", starring James Garner. They provided the army vehicles used at the end of the movie, "Blues Brothers", when the National Guard was in the sequence, downtown Chicago. One of the first movies they provided vehicles for was the "Desert Fox". When I lived in Jacksonville, FL in the 1980s, they provided tanks for the made for tv movie, "The RoadRaiders". Matter of fact, MY jeep was used in that movie!!!

was that a PBR in the corner of that one shot? or a rebuild? and just WOW!!....i can only dream

Yep, it's a PBR. Rick told me about it, shortly after he and his dad Fred got it. They took it out on (Morse reservoir, I think), and he said it was VERY fast!

The Japanese tank pictured was used in the "Road Raiders" movie I mentioned. I think he has two of them.

Rick's dad, Fred, was with a tank division in Korea.

I don't have a garage. If I did have one, my wife's car would be in it. If I had a two car garage, my wife's car and all her stuff would be in it. Either way, my toys would still live outside. :173go1:
