Whats the name of that Orbx Airport.....

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Hey all,

Whats the name of that small airport that has the camping area around it? Small logging area and mini airfield near it also that has a little bridge as part of the runway?

This would be in Washington and near Israels Farm, around that side of the country. Its not Concrete.

Cushman Meadows, although it's on the other side of the Puget Sound. "Israel's Farm" is between Skagit and Concrete, FWIW.

Random fact: The Israel's are a huge family and there is a constant stream of a new generation passing through the school system. I went to High School in Arlington and at that time there were probably a half dozen of them spread throughout various grades. They own a lot of property and a few restaurants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Family

I think both answers are correct. Isn't Cushman Meadows just Bill Womack's ORBX branded make-over of the ol' (FS9) Bear Gulch scenery add on you got with the RealAir Scout?
Mind you, it is a pretty comprehensive make-over!

[Edit] Actually, thinking about it a bit more, they may both be FSX, but you need Cushman Meadows if you want ORBX PNW compatibility.

Bill,

Bruce and Portia911 are correct. It's Bear Gulch. Originally modeled by Bill Womack for RealAir's Scout in FS9, he re-did it for ORBX PNW in FSX. Bill also did Cushman Meadows, which is right around the corner from Bear Gulch.

Fictional but fun.

Hi Bill,

Yes Cushman Meadows is the one. I did not plan to get it at first since it was fictional but that honey tongued Bill Womak did a great job on it then said some very convincing things about it and my resistance weakened. Its a beautiful area and makes for challenging approaches and visual navigation.

I saw your post about the effort behind creating a plane for simulation and agree with you, it comes down to putting in a lot of effort for what is usually a small return. Thank you for the efforts you put into your planes, I'm enjoying them.

good flights, Cal

Thanks Cal.

I didnt know that airfield is fictional, though it wouldnt matter. The detail in it is real enough in the sim, lol. I dont know how many times I have used Slew and roamed around in the camping grounds and checked out all the details.

For me it's a perfect area for using what LSAs and Ultralights I have in my hangar. Especially Anthony's Drifter.
And dare I say it almost seems like Cushman is related to Emma in some way. :icon_lol:
